Isa Sadiq Achida, the chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, lost his son Anas Isa Sadiq Achida in a deadly car accident as he was driving home from school.
On Saturday, August 26, 2023, Anas, a 25-year-old Lead City University Ibadan civil engineering graduate who had just finished his undergraduate studies, passed away while traveling to Sokoto.
He passed away alongside his companion, Lead University of Ibadan 300-level Public Health student Umar Muhammed, age 22.
After attending the late Anas Isa Saddiq Achida's funeral prayer, the governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, offered his condolences to the deceased's father and other family members, calling his passing as a big loss to the entire State.

After attending the late Anas Isa Saddiq Achida's funeral prayer, the governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, offered his condolences to the deceased's father and other family members, calling his passing as a big loss to the entire State.
In his prayer to Almighty Allah, he praised the late Anas as a "humble, brilliant, and dedicated son" and asked him to accept his good actions and pardon his errors.
The governor asked the families of the late Anas to view their son's passing as an act of God and to pray for the souls of their sons to rest in peace.
Since then, the corpse has been buried in accordance with Islamic customs.
A special prayer was led by Malam Bashir Gidan Kanawa, who asked Allah for forgiveness and mercy for the departed.
The Speaker, a few Sokoto State House of Assembly members, members of the State Executive Council, the Chief of Staff, Special Advisers and Special Assistants to the Governor, party leaders, politicians, and a large number of individuals were present during the funeral prayer.
Similar to like he did for Anas's family, Governor Ahmed Aliyu also expressed sympathy to Muhammed Umar's.
The Chief of Staff, Government House Sokoto Aminu Haliru Dikko, attended the condolence visit in Wamakko local government on behalf of the Governor.
He referred to Umar Muhammed's passing as tragic and appealed to Almighty Allah to pardon the person who passed away and grant the family the strength to endure the loss.
Malam Bashir Gidan Kanawa and Faruk Labbo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Domestic Affairs, accompanied the chief of staff on the condolence visit.
A special prayer was led by Malam Bashir Gidan Kanawa for the souls of Abubakar Bawa's departed.
