STORY:

The screen loads up with green, flowing code which gives way to the title, The Grid (1999).

A telephone rings and message shows up on the screen: " Opt to call trans: received. 2-19-98 13:24:18 REC: Log>" As a discussion happens between Trinity (Carrie-Anne Greenery) and Code (Joe Pantoliano), two free people, a table of irregular green numbers are being filtered and individual numbers chose, making a progression of digits much the same as a common telephone number, as though a code is being unraveled or a call is being followed.

Trinity talks about a person she doesn't know. Figure insults Trinity, proposing she appreciates watching him yet they should kill him. In response, Trinity asserts, "Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) says he may be 'the One.'" Similarly, Trinity is notified by the sound of a selected number that someone may be tracing their call. She closes the call.

In the Heart of the City Hotel, armed policemen move down a dim, decaying hallway with their flashlight beam bouncing just ahead of them. They come to room 303, kick down the entryway and find a lady wearing dark, confronting away from them. It's Trinity. At their instruction, she raises her hands from the laptop she is working on.

Outside the inn a vehicle drives up and three specialists show up in perfectly squeezed dark suits. They are Agents Jones (Robert Taylor), Agent Brown (Paul Goddard), and Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving). Agent Smith and the police lieutenant in charge argue. Specialist Smith counsels the cop that they were provided explicit orders to contact the specialists first, for their security. This is dismissed by the lieutenant, who asserts that they can handle "one little girl" and that he has two units bringing her down right now. Agent Smith's response is: No, Lieutenant. Your men are as of now dead."

Inside, Trinity effectively overcomes the six cops shipped off catch her, utilizing battling and avoidance strategies that appear to resist gravity. She calls Morpheus, telling him that the line has been followed, however she doesn't have the foggiest idea how. She is informed by Morpheus that she must "make it to another exit" and that agents are approaching her.

Trinity and an Agent leap inexplicably from one building to the next during a fierce rooftop chase, shocking the police officers who were left behind. Trinity bravely leaps across a narrow window and into an alley. She makes it to a street-level public phone booth after temporarily losing her pursuers. The phone starts ringing. As she moves toward it a dump truck, driven by Specialist Smith, pitches towards the telephone stall. Trinity makes a frantic scramble to the telephone, getting it only minutes before the truck crushes the corner into a block facade. At the truck's front, the three Agents meet up again. There is no body in the destruction. " She left, "one observes. Different says, "The source is genuine." " The other responds, "His name is Neo." "We have the name of their next target."

Thomas Anderson, otherwise known as "Neo" (Keanu Reeves), a programmer with thick dark hair and a pallid appearance, is snoozing at his screen. Sees about a manhunt for a man named Morpheus look across his screen as he dozes. Out of nowhere Neo's screen goes clear and a progression of instant messages show up: " Awaken, Neo." " The Network has you." " Take the White Rabbit's lead. Then, the text says "Thump, thump, Neo..." similarly as he understands it, a thump comes at the entryway of his condo, 101. Neo gives a group of ravers a counterfeit disc hidden in a copy of "Simulacra and Simulation." The lead raver requests that he go along with them and Neo disputes until he sees the tattoo of a little white hare on the shoulder of a tempting young lady in the gathering.

At a rave bar Neo remains solitary and standoffish as the gathering he's with party. Trinity approaches him and presents herself. Neo knows her by name; She had broken into the IRS database and was a well-known hacker. She informs him that they are watching him, that he is in great danger, and that she is aware that he is looking for answers, particularly to the most crucial question: How does the Matrix work? The recurrent blare of Neo's alarm clock replaces the bar's pulsating music; it's 9:18 and he's behind schedule for work.

Neo is chastised by his manager at Metacortex, a prominent software company housed in an unsettling high rise, for having a problem with authority and believing he is unique. While Neo is paying attention to his boss, he is focused on the office window cleaners. Neo receives a delivery as "Thomas Anderson" back at his gloomy cubicle. After opening the bundle he finds a cellphone which promptly rings. Morpheus is on the other end, and he tells Neo that "they" are coming for him and that they have both run out of time. He is instructed by Morpheus to slowly look up at the elevator. Specialists Smith, Jones, and Brown are there, clearly searching for him, as a lady focuses towards Neo's 3D shape. Morpheus attempts to direct Neo out of the structure however when he is told to get on a framework and take it to the rooftop Neo oddballs Morpheus' recommendation, permitting himself to be taken by the Specialists.

The Agents confront Neo in an interrogation room. He has been on their radar for some time. He juggles two lives: Neo, a computer hacker "guilty of virtually every computer crime we have a law for," has two identities: one as Thomas A. Anderson, a Metacortex software engineer, and the other as Neo. Specialist Smith requests that he assist them with catching Morpheus, thought about a hazardous psychological oppressor, in return for pardon. Neo gives them the finger and requests his call. Mr. Smith asks what benefit is a call on the off chance that he cannot talk. Neo finds that his lips have combined. The agents throw him on the interrogation table in a panic and insert a bug-like shrimp-like probe into his stomach through his navel.

Neo stirs with a beginning in his own bed, expecting it has all been a terrible dream. Morpheus is on the other end of the line when his phone rings. He tells Neo that the line is tapped yet they've underrated his significance. Neo is instructed to meet Morpheus at the Adams Street bridge and that he is the One. There he is gotten by Trinity and two others in a vehicle; Leather and black latex are what they all wear. Switch (Belinda McClory), a woman in the front seat, suddenly points a gun at him and tells him to take off his shirt. Trinity lets him know it's for their shared assurance and that he needs to trust her. She uses a device to get rid of the probe that Neo thought was part of a nightmare after he takes off his shirt. Trinity tosses the bug out into the street where it gradually goes dim in the downpour.

Neo is taken to Morpheus by Trinity. Morpheus tells Neo that he has been looking for Neo all of his life and inquires if Neo is feeling like "Alice in Wonderland, falling down the rabbit hole." He tells Neo that they are in the Matrix, a false reality created by humans to conceal the truth. The truth is that every person on the planet was born into slavery. Two pills are presented by Morpheus. In his left palm is a blue pill. If Neo takes it, he will "believe whatever you want to believe" when he wakes up in his bed. "You stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes," Morpheus tells him if he takes the red pill in his right hand. The red pill is taken by Neo.

As the remainder of Morpheus' team lashes him into a seat, Neo is informed that pill he took is essential for a follow program, to "upset his feedback/yield transporter signal" so they can pinpoint him. Next to Neo is a broken mirror that miraculously repairs itself. Neo looks at it. As Morpheus' crew tries to find something on the monitors all around them, Neo touches the surface, and the silver starts to seep into his skin and surround him. The silver liquid covers him completely, drops down his throat and he passes out.

He stirs inside a pinkish/purple undeveloped unit, stretching out from the side of a colossal segment, a piece of a gigantic power plant. He is smooth and exposed, with thick dark cylinders winding down his throat, connected to the rear of his skull, his spine, and attacking the majority of the remainder of his body. He discovers that his pod is open and that he is surrounded by towers of pods that are identical to his own and are all filled with bodies. He is suddenly taken by the throat by a threatening nurse robot hovering over him. The link embedded into the foundation of his skull unexpectedly withdraws. Neo is flushed down a tube into a filthy underground pool when the remaining tubes pop off his limbs. A hovercraft appears above him, grabs him, and hauls him into its cargo bay just as he is about to drown in the water. Neo is again surrounded by the crew of Morpheus, but this time they are dressed in a different way—in straightforward knitwear. "Welcome to the real world," Morpheus tells Neo just before he falls asleep.

Neo loses and gains consciousness. At a certain point he inquires, "Am I dead?" " "Not at all," Morpheus responds. He wakes up once more, his body like an acupuncture stick. Why are my eyes burning?" He demands. Morpheus responds, "You've never used them."

Neo at last wakes, completely dressed, with a short shock of hair on his head. When Morpheus enters the room, he pulls a connector from deep within his arm and reaches for the large socket on the back of his neck. What is this location? Neo inquires. Morpheus responds, "You believe it is the year 1999, when in fact it is closer to the year 2199." "The more important question is when," he says. Morpheus continues by stating that they truly do not know the date. He gives Neo a visit through his boat, the Nebuchadnezzar (they pass a plaque expressing it was worked in 2069), an old, beaten air cushion vehicle. Neo is acquainted with Morpheus' team including Trinity; Apoc, a man with long, wavy black hair (Julian Arahanga); Switch; Figure (uncovered with a goatee); Tank (Marcus Chong) and Dozer (Anthony Ray Parker) are two imposing brothers; as well as a young, lean man by the name of Mouse (Matt Doran).

Morpheus quits wasting time. " You needed to be familiar with the Framework," he says, guiding him to a seat. Neo plunks down in it and Trinity lashes him in. A long test is embedded into the attachment at the rear of Neo's skull.

Neo wakes in a universe of all white. He is in the Construct, which Morpheus and his crew use as a "loading platform" to get newly freed humans ready to deal with the Matrix world. Neo's neck and arm sockets are gone, and his hair has grown in. Morpheus asks him to sit while he explains the truth, explaining that what he is experiencing of himself is the "residual self image, the mental projection of your digital self." This," he says, showing a picture of a cutting edge city, "is the world that you know." an actual thing that "only exists as part of a neural, interactive simulation that we call the Matrix"

After that, Morpheus shows Neo the world as it is now—a charred, desolate void filled with burned-out buildings, black earth, and a shrouded sky.

Morpheus goes on to say that artificial intelligence, a "singular consciousness that birthed an entire race of machines," occurred "at some point in the early 21st century" and that "all of mankind was united in celebration as we gave birth."

No one knows who started the war, but it was known that humans blocked the sky in an effort to deprive machines of the solar energy they needed to function. Rather the machines went to people as a power source, oppressing them like Neo had been before he was liberated. Morpheus proceeds to make sense of that a human's body gives "more power than a 120 volt battery and over 25k BTUs in body heat." Morpheus shows Neo fields where machines develop people, associating them to their outlets, hiding them in their cases, and taking care of them with the melted remaining parts of other people. " The Framework," says Morpheus, "is a PC produced fantasy land made to monitor us, to turn us..." into a simple power source, into coppertop batteries.

Neo oddballs this data so hotly that he requests discharge from the Develop. On the hovercraft, he is back in the chair. The team take out the spike at the rear of his head and he battles to liberate himself from this cruel reality, just to wind up spewing on the floor and dropping.

Morpheus is by Neo's side when he wakes up in his bunk. I can't return, can I?" Neo inquires. No," says Morpheus. He is sorry to Neo for defying a cardinal guideline: after a particular age individuals aren't rescued once again from their simulacrum, yet Morpheus makes sense of he needed to bring Neo out. At the point when the Lattice was made there was a man brought into the world inside it who could make his own existence inside it. Morpheus and the others were freed by this man. At the point when he kicked the bucket, the Prophet (Gloria Cultivate) forecasted that he would return in another structure. What's more, that the arrival of the One would mean the annihilation of the Network. However long the Framework exists, mankind will keep on living in carelessness inside it and the world can never be free. " Morpheus declares, "I did what I did because I believe that search is over."

Neo starts his training the following day. Tank is his administrator. Dozer, Tank's brother, and Tank are both "100 percent pure old-fashioned, homegrown human." a real-world child; a genuine Zion child." Zion, Tank makes sense of, is the last human city, covered somewhere down in the earth, deeply close, for warmth. Tank lashes Neo back into the jack-in seat, by-misses a few fundamental projects and loads him with battle preparing, beginning with Jiu Jitsu. At the point when Tank hits "load" Neo is stunned by the power of the information filling him. " I think he prefers it," says Tank, "need some more?" " Damnation yes," answers Neo. Neo is taken care of a progression of hand to hand fighting methods including Kempo, Judo, Smashed Boxing and Kung Fu. Morpheus and Tank are astounded at Neo's capacity to ingest data, yet Morpheus needs to test Neo.

Neo and Morpheus are positioned in a sparring match. Rules, like gravity, exist in the program. However, as in numerous PC programs, a few principles can be bowed while others can be broken. Neo agrees to hit Morpheus if Morpheus can. They battle with Neo amazingly going after yet Morpheus effectively repelling and curbing him. Watching the fight, the rest of the crew gathers around the monitors. After explaining to Neo that the reason he has beaten him has nothing to do with muscles or reality, Morpheus ends up kicking Neo into a beam. They fight once more. What are you sitting tight for?" Morpheus inquires. You can beat this faster!" Finally, Neo punches his teacher in the face. Neo comes to a stop and says, "I know what you're trying to do," to Morpheus. He is informed by Morpheus that all he is doing is "showing him the door" and that Neo must enter through it.

A "bounce" program is stacked. Now, in a typical city skyline, both men are standing on one of the tall buildings. When Morpheus tells Neo that he needs to clear his mind, he leaps from one building to the next effortlessly but impossible. Neo tries to follow him with nervousness but fails to leap, plummeting to the ground below. Neo wakes back in the Nebudchanezzar with blood in his mouth. " He states, "I thought it wasn't real." Morpheus replied, "It becomes real in your mind." In this way, in the event that you kick the bucket in the Framework, you bite the dust here?" " "The mind cannot exist without the body," Morpheus asserts, highlighting the simulation's very real risk.

Trinity brings Neo dinner later, as he is sound asleep. Cypher makes the observation outside of his room that Trinity never brought him dinner. He asks Trinity why Morpheus hasn't taken Neo to see the Oracle yet, if Neo is the One. He'll take him when he's ready, according to Trinity.

In what appears to be the Matrix, Morpheus and Neo are strolling down a typical city street. According to Morpheus, the Matrix is a system and their adversary. Every one individuals that possess it, individuals they are attempting to free, are essential for that framework. Some are so idle, so subject to the Grid that they can never be free. A stunning woman in a red dress catches Neo's attention. Is it true or not that you are paying attention to me?" asks Morpheus. He asks Neo to take a gander at the young lady once more. Neo points a gun directly at Agent Smith as he turns to face him. The simulation, which was just made to look like the Matrix, is stopped by Morpheus.

Neo inquires about the Agents. Morpheus describes these as "sensible programs that can move in and out of any software hard-wired into their system, meaning that they can take over anyone in the Matrix program," and he refers to them as "sensible programs." Inside the Network," Morpheus says, "They are everybody and they are nobody." Therefore, despite the fact that the Agents "are guarding all the doors," Morpheus and his crew are able to escape from them and hide from them. They hold all the keys, and somebody will have to fight them at some point. In any case, nobody who has at any point confronted a Specialist has made due; They all perished. In any case, Morpheus is sure that on the grounds that the Specialists live in a universe of decides that they can never be major areas of strength for as, be really quick. " What are you attempting to tell me," asks Neo, "That I can avoid disasters?" " "You won't have to until you're ready," Morpheus declares. All at once Morpheus gets a call. " We experience difficulty," Code says on the other line.

The Nebuchadnezzar is on alert. They see the holographic picture of a squiddy, a hunt and obliterate sentinel, which is following right after them. They shut off the power and place the ship in a massive sewer system. Tank remains good to go switch of an EMP, electro-attractive heartbeat, the main weapon man has against the machines in reality. The crew can see two squiddies searching for the ship, but they move on.

Cypher, who is working at a computer console and streaming green code, is startled by Neo. Cypher says that he understands what Neo is thinking when he gives him a drink, "Why, oh why didn't I take the blue pill?" Neo giggles yet is disrupted. Figure asks Neo in the event that Morpheus has told him for what good reason he's here. "Neo bows. Cypher remarks, "So you're here to save the world." "What a mind job."

In the Matrix, Cypher and Agent Smith are currently dining in a posh establishment. Agent Smith inquires about a contract. Figure cuts up a succulent steak and ruminates that he realizes the steak is just the recreation let his mind know that it is flavorful and delicious, however following nine years he has found that "obliviousness is rapture." He agrees to help the Agents in exchange for the machines reinserting his body into a power plant and the Matrix. He wants to be powerful and wealthy, possibly "an actor." Smith states that he requires keys to the Zion mainframe. Figure says he can't do that, yet that he can get him the one who does, meaning Morpheus.

In the mean time, inside the Nebuchadnezzar's little lounge area in reality, the remainder of the team is attempting to force down the oats slop that they have as food. Mouse considers the mistakes that the machines may have made in their attempts to accurately reproduce sensations like the taste of chicken. They allowed everything to taste like it because they didn't know what it tasted like. Morpheus announces during the meal that he will be taking Neo to see the Oracle.

The Matrix is hijacked by Morpheus, Trinity, Neo, Apoc, Switch, Mouse, and Cypher. As they leave a stockroom Code furtively tosses his phone into the trash. On the vehicle ride to the Prophet, Neo inquires as to whether she has seen the Prophet. Trinity says that she has however when she's asked exactly everything she was said to by the Prophet, she won't reply.

Morpheus explains that the Oracle has been with them ever since the Resistance began. The prophecy that Morpheus would be the one to locate the One was written by her. He says that she can help Neo find the way. He enters the Oracle's apartment. Inside are the additional possibilities: numerous children and a mother figure. One kid suspends blocks, one peruses Asian writing, another is playing chess. A child with no hair is bending spoons. "Do not try to bend the spoon, that's impossible," he tells Neo as he hands him a single spoon. Instead, all you need to do is try to understand that there is no spoon. Neo twists the spoon as he's brought in to see the Prophet.

The Prophet is baking treats. She estimates Neo up and finds out if he assumes he is the One. Neo concedes that he doesn't have any idea and the Prophet doesn't illuminate him. Neo grins and the Prophet asks him what is amusing. Neo acknowledges that Morpheus had nearly persuaded him that he was the One. She accepts this and makes a prediction that Morpheus will sacrifice himself because he is so in love with Neo. She informs Neo that either he or Morpheus will pass away, and that Neo will be able to select which one. She then gives him a cookie and promises that once he finishes it, he will feel fine.

Tank, in the control room, notices something odd as the crew returns to their jack point, which is many floors above ground in an old hotel. In the interim Neo, strolling up the steps, sees what gives off an impression of being a similar feline cross a room two times. " "Deja vu," he says, drawing Trinity and Morpheus's attention. This feels familiar, they clarify for him, is an error in the Framework; It occurs when the computer's parameters are reset. The phone line is cut outside. The mouse moves toward a blocked-off window. They are caught. Mouse gets two assault rifles however he's no counterpart for the police coming into the room. He has been shot so many times.

The real Mouse dies in the chair after spitting blood back at Nebuchadnezzar.

The hotel's basement is being invaded by additional agents and police. Morpheus has Tank find a design of the structure they're in, finding the super wet wall. Cypher has left behind a coat when the Agents arrive on the floor they are on. They just find an opening in the restroom wall. In the interim the team is descending the pipes of the wet wall. Cypher sneezes as the police approach, once more giving them away. The police open fire. The group, including Neo, start to fire back.

Neo is grabbed by the neck by an agent after an agent takes control of a policeman's body and enters the wall. Morpheus, who is in the walls above Neo, breaks through the wall and lands on the agent while yelling at Trinity to get Neo out of the building.

A wild fight between Specialist Smith and Morpheus closes with Morpheus face down on the tile. Specialist Smith sends the police unit in to beat him with their implement.

Cypher is the first of Trinity, Neo, Switch, and Apoc to return to the Nebuchadnezzar. As Tank endeavors to bring the others back, Code assaults him from behind with an electronic weapon. Dozer endeavors to handle Code, however Code shocks him too.

Trinity tries to call Tank, but Cypher answers by removing the headset from Tank's smoking remains. As Code converses with Trinity inside the Network he hangs over the still type of Trinity in the air cushion vehicle. Figure relates the things he detests about this present reality, the conflict, the chilly, the goop they need to eat, however most particularly Morpheus and his convictions. " He misled us, Trinity."

Apoc dies in the Matrix after Cypher removes the plug from the back of his head. Cypher then moves to Switch, and as she cries "Not like this..." in the Matrix, she is killed on the ship by Cypher. She falls to her death in front of Neo and Trinity. Figure continues on toward Neo's prostrate structure, saying that in the event that Neo is the One, a supernatural occurrence will keep Code from killing him:

"If he's dead, how can he be the one?" he inquires. He keeps baiting Trinity, inquiring as to whether she accepts that Neo is the One. According to she, "Yes." Figure shouts back "No!" However, when he sees Tank still alive and wielding the weapon Cypher had used on him, his reaction is one of incredulity. Cypher is fried by Tank using the electrical device.

When Tank brings Trinity back, she learns that Dozer has passed away.

In the interim Specialist Smith, a plate of torment instruments close to him, wonders about the excellence of the Lattice as he looks out at the city surrounding them. He illuminates Morpheus, who is attached to a seat, that the principal Network was planned as a perfect world, designed to fulfill everybody. " "Entire crops were lost," asserts Agent Smith, "people wouldn't accept the program." "Some people thought we lacked the programming language to describe your ideal world," continues Smith. Yet, that's what I accept, as an animal varieties, people characterize their existence through hopelessness and languishing. The ideal world was a fantasy that your crude frontal cortex continued to attempt to awaken from. The Matrix was redesigned for this reason. Agent Smith says that evolution is taking place and that humans are like dinosaurs. Another Specialist enters and transfers that there might be an issue (as they currently realize that Code has fizzled).

Morpheus's shaking form as he returns to the hovercraft reveals the suffering he is going through at the hands of the Agents in the Matrix. Tank realizes that they are attempting to transfer the codes to Zion's computers' mainframes; The captain of each ship knows them. According to Tank, their only option is to unplug Morpheus, thereby effectively killing him, since a breach of Zion's defenses would result in the extermination of all human life.

Back in the Framework, the Specialists cycle their best course of action. They conclude that the remaining crew members will kill Morpheus if Cypher passes away. They decide to use the Sentinels and stick to their original plan.

Tank is removing the jack from Morpheus' skull while laying one hand on his head in what could be considered his final rites. Neo stops him just as he is about to take it out. The Oracle was correct, he realizes. He must now choose whether to save Morpheus or himself; He has decided to enter the Matrix once more. Trinity objects to the concept. Since Neo is the One, Morpheus gave himself up so Neo could be saved.

Neo says, expressing his understanding of the Oracle's conversation, "I'm not the One, Trinity." She didn't tell him if he was the one who was supposed to be the messiah. Neo is aware that he must also sacrifice himself because Morpheus was willing to do so. Tank calls it self destruction; it's a tactical structure with Specialists inside. Neo says he just realizes that he can bring Morpheus out. Trinity chooses to accompany him, dissuading Neo that he will require her assistance and she's the positioning official on the boat. " Tank," she says, "load us up!"

Meanwhile, Morpheus, who has been brutalized, continues to listen to Agent Smith's thoughts. According to Smith, we are not mammals but viruses—the only other animal that behaves in this way—because we spread to a new area, consume the natural resources there, and must do so in order to survive.

Neo and Trinity receive weapons in the Construct. " Neo," fights Trinity, "Nobody has at any point done anything like this." " That is the reason it will work," he answers.

Smith asks the other Agents why the serum isn't working because Morpheus hasn't broken yet. Perhaps we're posing some unacceptable inquiries," answers one. Smith orders the other agents to leave him alone with Morpheus in response to that. Smith eliminates his headphone and his glasses and trusts that he can't stand the Framework, "this zoo, this jail." Smith acknowledges that he must escape this "reality." He despises the smell. He is certain that Morpheus holds the key to his release and that he will be influenced in some way by the humans. Assuming that there is no Zion there's no requirement for Smith to be in the Grid. " You must inform me otherwise you will die."

Trinity and Neo enter the heavily armed building downstairs in the lobby. They shoot their far beyond the gatekeepers and a gathering of troopers and advance into the lift.

Specialists Brown and Jones go into the cross examination space to find Smith with his hands actually fixed on Morpheus' head. Smith looks humiliated and bewildered and the others inform him regarding the assault happening ground floor. They understand that the people are attempting to save Morpheus.

In the lift, Trinity arms a bomb. The two of them move through a portal to the lift rooftop, joining a brace to the lift link. Neo says "The spoon doesn't really exist" before he cuts off the link with a couple of shots. The stabilizer drops, impelling Neo and Trinity vertical. When it hits the lobby floor, the elevator explodes and bursts into flames.

The building starts to sprinkle, and the Agents hear the rumble of the explosion. Track down them and obliterate them!" Smith orders.

A helicopter pilot is yelling "Mayday" from the roof as Trinity and Neo eliminate the soldiers there. Specialist Earthy colored assumes control over the pilot and shows up behind Neo. The Agent dodges Neo's multiple shots and draws his own weapon.

"Trinity," shouts Neo, "Help!" Be that as it may, it's past the point of no return. The agent gets ready to fire. Rather than being shot, Neo avoids the greater part of the disasters, however two of them scratch him. The Agent fires a kill shot at Neo, who is lying on the ground, but Trinity shoots him before he can fire again. Trinity wonders about how quick Neo has recently moved; she's never seen anybody move that rapidly.

Trinity is now able to pilot the helicopter after Tank gives her the ability to fly it. Trinity brings the helicopter down to the floor that Morpheus is on and Neo starts shooting at the three Specialists. The Specialists rapidly fall and Morpheus is separated from everyone else in the room. The Agents quickly take control of additional soldiers stationed nearby. Morpheus breaks his bonds and starts to rush to the helicopter. He was struck in the leg by the Agents' fire. Neo decides not to jump with Morpheus, so he throws himself out of the helicopter while wearing a safety harness.

Agent Smith shoots the hydraulic line of the helicopter after he captures Morpheus.

Unfit to control the helicopter, Trinity phenomenally gets it sufficiently close to drop Morpheus and Neo on a roof. As the helicopter falls toward a building, Neo grabs the safety line. Trinity cuts the safety line that connects Neo to the helicopter and jumps on it herself as the helicopter crashes into the side of a building, creating an odd ripple in the building's reality.

On the boat Tank says, "I knew it; He is the One.

Trinity is brought up to them by Neo. Trinity, do you now have faith in it?" Morpheus inquires as he approaches the two men. Neo attempts to let him know that the Prophet let him know the inverse however Morpheus says, "She told you precisely what you expected to hear." They contact Tank, who informs them of a nearby subway exit.

When the agents arrive on the rooftop, all they find is a safety line and a harness. However Specialist Smith is irritated, the other two are fulfilled. The Sentinels have been sent to attack Nebuchadnezzar after a trace has been made in the real world.

They quickly locate the phone booth in the subway, where Morpheus emerges from the Matrix. A wino observes this. Through the wino, Agent Smith tracks their movements from the rooftop and seizes his body.

In the interim, as the telephone rings, giving Trinity's leave, she trusts to Neo that all that the Prophet has told her has materialized, with the exception of a certain something. She doesn't say what it is and picks up the phone as soon as she sees Agent Smith approaching. Smith breaks the ear piece of the telephone; Neo can't get out of there right now.

Neo turns to face Smith rather than running, as Trinity begs him to do while she watches from the ship. They void their weapons on one another, neither raising a ruckus around town. After that, they engage in close combat and exchange blows. Neo scopes Specialist Smith's head, breaking his glasses. " I will appreciate watching you kick the bucket, Mr. Anderson," says Smith. They exchange a few loud blows with Smith hitting Neo so hard he throws up blood in the Lattice and in the seat on board the boat.

Trinity declares, "He's killing him."

Neo gets back up, sets himself and entices Smith to begin once more. This time Neo conveys destroying many blows. In any case, Smith counters, tossing Neo into a wall then, at that point, beating him with body blows. Smith has a wicked idea that a subway train is on its way because of a tunnel wind. He then drops himself there after throwing Neo into the subway tracks. He puts Neo in a wrestling hold and, in the shine of the approaching metro says, "That's what you hear, Mr. Anderson? That's the sound of impending doom. It is your demise. Farewell, Mr. Anderson."

"My name," he answers, "is Neo." Then, at that point, with a strong jump, Neo moves them to the roof of the passage. They return to the ground, and Neo does a backflip off the tracks, exposing Agent Smith to the approaching train.

Neo heads for the steps, however Smith has previously appropriated another body and rises out of the entryways of the train.

In the mean time the Sentinels have shown up to go after the Nebuchadnezzar; there are five of them and they are shutting quick.

Morpheus advises Tank to charge the EMP. Morpheus is reminded by Trinity that while Neo is in the Matrix, they can't use the EMP.

"I know, Trinity, sit back and relax," says Morpheus, "He will make it."

Neo steals a cell phone from a suit that is nearby while they are back in the Matrix's streets. He refers to Tank as: I need to get out of here, Mr. Wizard. He whizzes through a crowded market as agents take people one by one. They force Neo down a dull rear entryway. He knocks on a door and rushes through an apartment complex where the Agents take more bodies. One of them is a sweet old lady who throws a knife at Neo while Neo is acting as Agent Smith. The Agents are close behind Neo as he leaps into a trash can.

The Sentinels have made their way to the Nebuchadnezzar. The ship is being torn apart by them.

Neo returns to the Heart of the City Hotel in the Matrix. He is directed to room 303 by Tank. He is literally being chased by the Agents.

The ship's hull is breached by the Sentinels. Inside, they are. Trinity, who is in the chair next to Neo's body, begs him to hurry.

Neo enters room 303 when he reaches it. He's quickly shot, point clear in the stomach, by Specialist Smith. Smith inserts Neo's body with his magazine. Neo falls to the ground and dies.

Neo's vital signs cease to exist on the ship. It can't be," says Morpheus.

The others are instructed to check Neo by Agent Smith. One person replies, "He's gone." Smith concludes, "Good-bye, Mr. Anderson."

The majority of the hovercraft is beginning to be destroyed by the Sentinels' lasers. Trinity hangs not without a serious fight.

"Neo," she says, "I'm not apprehensive any longer. The Prophet let me know that I would fall head over heels and that that man... the man that I cherished would be the One. As you can see, you cannot die. Because I love you, you can't be. Can I hear you? I love you." She kisses him. In the seat Neo abruptly relaxes. In the Grid, Neo wakes up. " Presently get up," orders Trinity.

When the Agents hear Neo standing behind them, they fire. No," Neo says smoothly, lifting his hands. He halts their fire in midair. They fall to the ground unharmed.

"What's going on?" Tank asks. He is the One," says Morpheus.

Neo is able to see green cascading code when he is back in the Matrix.

Specialist Smith is incensed. He attacks Neo as he runs toward him. Neo blocks Smith's blows easily before he sends Smith flying with one very much positioned kick. Neo then jumps into Smith's body and appropriates him. Smith's shell detonates in an ocean of code and Neo is all that is left, the walls locking in waves as they did when the helicopter crashed. Specialists Brown and Jones take a gander at each other and take off.

The Sentinels are presently completely in the boat. They are right above Trinity and Morpheus.

Neo sprints to the room's ringing phone once more in the Matrix.

Morpheus is compelled to use the EMP. He does and the Sentinels fall idle to the floor.

Neo has returned. He kisses Trinity.

The display is blank. "There is a command prompt. Opt to call trans: received. 9-18-99 14:32:21 REC: Log> "Carrier anomaly," followed by "Trace program: running" A message stating "System Failure" appears as the numbers grid appears once more. Neo's voice hangs over everything:

"I'm aware that you're outside. I can feel you now. You're afraid of us, as far as I can tell. You don't like change. I don't know what lies ahead. I didn't come here to let you know how this will end. I came to inform you of the plan for the beginning. I will hang up this telephone, and afterward I will show these individuals what you don't believe they should see. I will demonstrate to them a world without you. A world absent of any guidelines and controls, without lines or limits. a world in which anything is conceivable. I'll let you decide where we go from there."

In the Grid world, Neo hangs up the telephone. He takes a gander at the thoughtless masses around him, puts on his glasses and afterward gazes upward. He takes off from high above the city. The third and final Matrix film, The Matrix Reloaded (2003), continues the story.
