This is how the moon was born – Kids Stories

Nana Nani’s stories

It is a matter of that time, when there was no moon in the world.

There was only the sun, which was always shining brightly.

That’s why everyone used to work all the time.

He had no knowledge of time or day and night.

They used to work until they fell down exhausted.

There was no fixed time to Rest.

So as soon as some strength returned to the tired people, they started working again. Life was going on like this.

One day Lord Brahma, the creator of the world, came to inspect the earth.

He was very happy to see all the hardworking people. Crops were fluttering in the fields. Rivers were flowing. The trees and plants were green and laden with fruits and flowers.

He asked a person, ‘When did you sow this crop?! ‘Today’ he said.

‘When will you cut it?

‘ He asked.

“today itself.’ He said.

When they went a little further, they found a woman.

She was sitting with her two sons. There was a difference of several years between the two sons.

Pointing to the elder son, Brahmaji asked – ‘When were you born?

‘Today’ he said. Then he pointed to the younger son and asked the woman – “And when was he born?”

‘today itself! The woman said, ‘Everything happened here today, because there is only ‘today’ here.’

Then Brahmaji understood that the people of the earth have no knowledge of time at all.

They don’t know anything about day and night. Then he asked the sun to go into hiding at a certain time, so that the people of the earth could stop working and rest, which the sun did.

When suddenly the sun hid, there was thick darkness all around. People started running here and there in panic.

They could not understand what happened.

Some people fell. Some got hurt. Things fell out of people’s hands and broke.

When the sun started setting again and again, an elderly person suggested. Kept that as soon as it gets dark, everyone should lie down and rest. Start working again when the sun comes out again.

Everyone obeyed him and now everyone started getting time to rest. They started living more healthy.

Brahmaji again came to meet him and asked, “You do not get Food day and night.

Everyone lived far away from him. And that’s why his name was changed from lucky to Unfortunate.

King Paramveer had also heard a lot about the unfortunate.

He wanted to check this himself. So he called the unfortunate to the palace and kept him there for the night.

When he woke up in the morning, before opening his eyes, the unfortunate was sent to his room. The king opened his eyes and first saw the face of the unfortunate.

Then they got busy in their affairs.

When they sat down to eat in the afternoon. A fly came flying from somewhere and fell into the food. King Paramveer got very angry.

He ordered the food to be cooked again.

But by the time the food was ready again, his hunger had died. So they left without eating food.

He was convinced that the reason for this was bad luck. That’s why he gave death sentence to the unfortunate.

The poor fellow was really unfortunate. When he was being taken, he found a sharp mind on the way.

The unfortunate narrated the whole incident to him. Then Kushagrabuddhi said something in his ear.

Before the execution, the unfortunate was asked what was his last wish. Then he said, “I want to say something to Maharaj before I die.”

To fulfill his last wish, he was allowed to do so.

Then he said to the king, ‘ Maharaj! When you woke up in the morning and saw my face, you did not get food.

But when I saw your face, I got the death penalty. Now you tell who is more inauspicious? me or you ?’

Maharaj was shocked to hear his words.

He was proud of his intelligence and rewarded him and allowed him to go home.
