Sean Paul’s third studio Album “The Trinity” released by VP/Atlantic Records has been certified 2x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association Of America for selling 2 million units in streams and sales combined in the U.S.

The latest certification for the album was issued on March 28, 2024. The album, released on September 27, 2005, features production from Donovan “Don Corleon” Bennett, Renaissance Crew, and Supa Dups. It is certified platinum in both Europe and the US by the RIAA. “The Trinity” is Sean Paul’s fourth most-streamed album on Spotify, surpassing 1 billion streams as of March 29, 2024. Sean Paul now becomes the first dancehall artist to have four albums surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Singles from the album include chart topping hits like “We Be Burnin’,” “Temperature,” and “Give It Up to Me.” Worldwide, the album has now sold 4 million copies, and an expanded two-CD edition was released in the UK on on June 26, 2006, where it is certified Gold (100,000) with additional tracks such as the singles “Cry Baby Cry” featuring Carlos Santana and Joss Stone, and “Break It Off” featuring Rihanna.

The last U.S. certification for the album was on Platinum for selling 1 million units on April 28, 2006 and Gold  (500,000) November 2, 2005.

It the the highest first week sales for a dancehall album in the U.S. SoundScan history, having topped the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200, selling over 107,000 copies in its first week.

The album garnered a nomination for Best Reggae Album at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards and attained  platinums certification in Europe (1,000,000), Japan (250,000) and Canada (100,000). It is also 2x Platinum in France (400,000), and Gold in Switzerland (20,000), Germany (100,000), Ireland (7500) and Belgium (25,000).
