Stephen Marley‘s seventh studio album “Old Soul“, debuts at number ten on this week’s U.S. Billboard Reggae Albums Chart.
The album sold 900 units in streams and sales during its first week of release between September 15 and 21 according to data supplied exclusively to WMV by Billboard sales tracker Luminate. Over its lifetime, “Old Soul” has sold a total on 1700 album equivalent units including previously released singles “Old Soul” and “Cool As The Breeze.”

This is Marley’s lowest sales debut and his last album 2016’s “Revelation Pt. 2 – The Fruit of Life,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart the week of August 13 and No. 129 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The album also peaked at #13 on the Tastemakers albums chart, #42 on the Top Current Albums chart, #47 on the Top Albums Chart that same week.
Continuing on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart this week, “Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley And The Wailers” maintains its reign at the top for 193 weeks.
Released posthumously in 1984, the Legend spends a record 800 weeks on the Billboard 200 albums chart making it the second album to reach that milestone eclipsed only by Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Mood which is the longest charting album in BB200 history with 981 non-consecutive weeks. Legend which has a Deluxe edition has surpassed 5 billion streams on Spotify, the most for any reggae album globally of all time.
Legend is the only album by a Jamaican to be certified Diamond by by the Recording Industry Association Of America for selling more than 15 million units.
Holding the second position is Shaggy‘s “Best Of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection,” with 234 weeks on the chart. Sean Paul‘s “Dutty Classics Collection” sits at number three with 163 weeks. Byron Messia‘s “No Love” and No.4 and Sean Paul’s triple Platinum album “Dutty Rock” rounds out the top five.
UB40’s “Greatest Hits,” sits at number four and Stick Figure’s “Set In Stone,” “Wisdom,” and “World On Fire” occupy positions seven through nine.
