“RU The World,” by Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ruger has debuted at No. 10 on the US Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. The album released on September 1, 2023 features Stefflon Don, Govana, Projexx, Jugglerz and Sauti Sol.

The track “Island Girl,” with Projexx is a follow up to their 2022 collaboration “Sidepiece.”

This song delves into the theme of infidelity, with Ruger expressing his commitment to an island girl.

Track 8 on the album ‘Asiwaju’ which was released on November 14, 2022 re-enters the US Afrobeats singles Chart at No. 44. It peaked at No. 16 and has spent a total of 41 weeks on the chart. The song is also currently at No. 38 on Nigeria’s Spotify chart after peaking at No. 1. The album is charting at No. 3 on Nigeria and No. 151 in South Africa on Spotify. it is Ruger’s most streamed song on the platform with 62 million streams.

Ruger, born Michael Adebayo Olayinka began to rise in the music industry after the released of his 2021 hit “Bounce,” which has 66 million views on YouTube. He is signed to Columbia Records and Sony Music Entertainment, UK division.

Elsewhere on Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, “Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley And The Wailers” by Bob Marley And The Wailers is at the top for a an extended record of 191 weeks.

“Best Of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection” by Shaggy retains its No. 2 spot with 232 weeks on the chart.

“No Love” by Byron Messia re-enters at No. 3, with a total of 13 weeks on the chart.

“Dutty Classics Collection” by Sean Paul also re-enters the chart, taking the fourth position, (161 weeks).

“Greatest Hits” by UB40 is at the fifth position, (260 weeks).

“Wisdom”, “Set In Stone” and “World On Fire” by Stick Figure is at No. 6,7, and 8 respectively.

“Dutty Rock” by Sean Paul is at No 9 with 200 weeks total on the chart.
