70-Year-Old Ex-Super Eagles Coach Bags First Class In UNIJOS

Ben Duamlong, a 70-year-old former assistant coach of the Nigerian Super Eagles, has achieved a remarkable feat by bagging a first-class degree in Painting from the University of Jos. Out of 20,532 students who graduated from the university in 2023, Duamlong was one of the 112 students who achieved the highest academic honor.

After retiring from his football coaching career with the national team in 2014, Duamlong enrolled in the degree program to pursue his passion for art. He explained that he had always enjoyed drawing, but had never attempted painting before.

Duamlong's son, Gwandai, expressed his delight at his father's impressive academic performance. Duamlong had served as the assistant coach for the Super Eagles during the 2002 World Cup held in Korea and Japan.

Duamlong's determination to pursue his passion for art and excel academically at the age of 70 is an inspiring example to others. It shows that age is not a barrier to personal growth, learning, and achievement. His achievement is remarkable and deserves recognition.
