The Police have a shortage of skilled officers - in the last six years, at least 8 400 detectives have left the profession.
On Wednesday, national police commissioner Fannie Masemola responded to questions in Parliament by the DA regarding the police seeing a decline in detectives, which has left many criminal cases unresolved.
Masemola revealed in 2016/17, the police lost 8 400 detectives from 26 000.
