Another rainy start to the weekend but clear days ahead for NYC

Cry me a river, literally.

The Big Apple Woke up to more Rain for the seventh weekend in a row on Saturday as a coastal storm traveled north, bringing with it heavy rain and strong winds to parts of the East Coast.

But, there is light at the end of the dark, gloomy tunnel, Fox Meteorologist Christopher Tate told The Post.

“Great news — we might see some blue sky before sunset and Sunday should be a relatively nice day,” he said.

Rain will taper off through the day Saturday and Sunday is expected to be cool and breezy with temps in the high 50s with the sun peeking out.

Wind gusts could reach 33 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather patterns are complicated, said Tate, but New York has been stuck in a six- to seven-day loop that has brought rain mostly on Saturdays and Sundays since early September.

“Should we laugh or cry?” Fox Weather meteorologist Jason Frazer wrote on X earlier this week. “There’s just something about Saturdays and rain!”

The week ahead will be warmer and sunny and hopefully stay dry into the weekend.

And believe it or not, this October, which kicked off with destructive flooding, is nowhere near setting records, as only half an inch to a quarter of an inch of rain has typically been falling at a time — just enough to make everyone groan, said Tate.

Since Aug., 1, however, New York has received more rain than Seattle has all year, according to Fox Weather.

Different records may be set elsewhere in the country as a heatwave out west wraps up but travels east, bringing unseasonably warm temperatures in the 90s to Texas.

The Rockies are getting seeing the first notable snowfall of the season, giving resorts a powdery base to head into ski season.
