Trevor Lawrence claps back at haters amid 5-2 Jaguars start: ‘Keep your opinions’

Trevor Lawrence is tired of his doubters.

The Jaguars quarterback took to X to call out “analysts” who aren’t on board with him and his team.

“Y’all keep your opinions and we’ll keep finding ways to win #Analysts,” Lawrence wrote in a Saturday post.

It isn’t clear who the 2021 No. 1 overall pick is exactly referring to, but he could perhaps be clapping back at former NFL cornerback and current “Thursday Night Football” commentator Richard Sherman, who had some tough remarks for Lawrence this week during Jacksonville’s 31-24 win over the Saints.

“He was supposed to be a generational talent. I just haven’t seen it,” Sherman said during the broadcast, per USA Today.

Sherman doubled down on his Lawrence criticism on social media during the game.

“I’m waiting on this fantastic Trevor that apparently I have been missing to show up,” the former NFL cornerback wrote.

Lawrence led the Jaguars to a close victory over New Orleans in Week 7, throwing for 204 yards on 20 of 29 passing.

Overall, Lawrence has thrown for 234.7 yards per game this season with eight touchdown passes and three interceptions.

Jacksonville sits in first place in the AFC South, 1.5 games ahead of the second-place Colts (3-3).

After an iffy 1-2 start to the season, Lawrence and the Jaguars have won four straight, including a big win over the Bills in London in Week 5.

It’s the second straight season the Jaguars got off to a slow start, albeit a much shorter one this season.

Jacksonville was 2-6 through eight games last season before winning seven of their last nine games, including five straight, to finish the season as AFC South champions.

After pulling off one of the biggest comebacks in NFL history against the Chargers in the wild-card round of the playoffs, the Jaguars fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Chiefs, 27-20, in the divisional round.
