Chicago prof at School of the Art Institute slammed for posts saying ‘Israelis are pigs’

An Associate Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago is under fire for antisemitic comments she posted on social media calling Israeli’s “pigs” and “savages.”

Dr. Mika Tosca, a climate scientist and activist, slammed the Jewish State in an Instagram story amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

“Israelis are pigs. Savages,” she wrote. “Very bad people. Irredeemable excrement.”

She called Israel’s defense against Hamas – the terrorist group that killed more than 1,400 people and has kidnapped more than 200 others since Oct. 7 – “propaganda” that is “downright evil.”

Following the attack, Israel has bombed the Gaza strip — an area under Hamas control — daily to target the group. The health ministry there said 2,750 Palestinians have been killed and 9,700 wounded since the bombing began.

“After the past week, if your eyes aren’t open to the crimes against humanity that Israel is committing and has committed for decades, and will continue to commit, then I suggest you open them,” she added.

“It’s disgusting and grotesque. May they all rot in hell.”

Tosca’s comments were flagged by the StopAntisemitism nonprofit group, who condemned the statements and alerted them to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

“@saic_news your Israeli and Jewish Students Deserve better than being taught by this hate filled instructor,” the organization wrote on X.

Liora Rez, StopAntisemitism’s Executive Director told The Post in a statement: “As reports of antisemitism continue to pour in, we demand administrators hold Dr. Mika Tosca fully accountable for her vile bigotry.

“She must be investigated for her horrible sentiments. Jewish students deserve to feel safe on campus and people like her make that impossible when they’re unapologetically antisemitic.”

The school and Tosca did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

The SAIC associate professor is not the only college educator who has received backlash over her take on the Israel-Hamas war.

Joseph Massad, a tenured politics and history teacher at Columbia University, has seen growing calls to fire him for “condoning and supporting terrorism,” according to a student who started the petition to have him booted after Massad praised Hamas’ terror attack as “astonishing,” “astounding,” “awesome” and “incredible.”

The petition garnered more than 45,000 signatures on Change.org before it was suspended and placed
“under review by moderators”.

Over at Cornell University, associate professor of history Russell Rickford is facing similar calls for his ouster after he claimed he was “exhilarated” by the unprecedented violence against Israel.

But it’s not just those who appeared to support Hamas who are under fire.

On the other side of the division, Washington University professor Seth Crosby said he was fired for praising Israel’s airstrikes against Gaza as “a much needed cleansing, yes, but not an ethnic one. Israel is not targeting humans.”

Crosby was criticized by Muslim advocacy groups for dehumanizing Palestinians as a whole, with them pointing out women and children are among those killed since Israel declared war against Hamas.

Israeli news sources have reported babies, children and women were among those targeted and murdered during Hamas’ terrorist attack.
