Amazon will launch its South African Marketplace next year.
The date for Amazon's throwdown with Takealot and other local retailers has finally been set as the global e-commerce giant recently announced its intention to open a South African marketplace in 2024.
In the meantime, Amazon has already thrown a shot at its future competitors, announcing that it will drop its monthly membership fee for South African sellers on its platform to R1 per month for the first 12 months of operation.
After the 12 months elapse, the fee will increase to R460, which is R60 more than the R400 monthly fee Takealot charges.
