Hamas killed mom in front of her two young boys, booby-trapped her body

A Canadian-Israeli mom was murdered in front of her two young sons by Hamas Terrorists — who booby-trapped her body and then used the children as human shields, according to a report.

Adi Vital-Kaploun, 33, was killed by the terrorist group on Oct. 7 in Holit, a kibbutz near the Gaza Strip, her friends told The Globe and Mail of Canada.

The terrorists killed her in front of her two sons, 4-year-old Negev and 4-month-old Eshel, while her husband and their dad, Anani, was partying with friends at another kibbutz, friend Dina Zaslacski told the outlet.

Military officials told the family that Vital-Kaploun’s body was shoved under Negev’s bed and booby-trapped so it would explode if anyone tried to move it, Zaslacski said.

“They put bombs all over her body and her dad was in the house. Thank God he didn’t open the door,” she said, tearfully.

But Negev “saw his mother being shot” and “remembers everything,” Zaslacski added.

The family held out hope that Vital-Kaploun was still alive and held captive, but the IDF found her body on Wednesday after days of sifting through booby traps in the house.

“They neutralized the bombs and then they found the body under the firstborn’s bed — with bombs,” Zaslacski told The Globe and Mail.

On the day of the attack, Vital-Kaploun texted her husband to stay away as she hid from the terrorists with the children.

“She told him, ‘Don’t come out, don’t try to join us, don’t open the door to anyone.’ By doing so, she saved his life,” her childhood friend Moshiko Bengiat told the outlet. “She also saved her kids.”

Meanwhile, neighbor Avital Aldjem was hiding in her own home, where the terrorists killed a fellow kibbutznik who had been sheltering with her amid that rampage.

She was dragged out and handed Vital-Kaploun’s boys. Negev had been shot in the leg.

“They said, ‘Do you know these kids?’ and she said, ‘Yes,’ ” Bengiat told the news outlet, adding that Aldjem and the children were then used as human shields.

“They moved us between houses, with destruction and blood everywhere,” Aldjem told Israel’s TV news outlet N12, according to the report. “They were setting houses on fire and also burning vehicles.”

“We were on the way to Gaza, me and the kids and the terrorists,” she said, but Negev screamed that he didn’t want to go and the terrorists eventually decided to leave the hostages.

“I could see Gaza houses, then they said, ‘That’s it! Now you go!’” said Aldjem, who carried Eshel as the wounded Negev limped along, according to the Globe and Mail.

After hiding from other terrorists, IDF soldiers finally found the group and took them to safety.

Bengiat remembered Vital-Kaploun, who had a degree in chemical engineering and a background in cybersecurity, as “an amazing woman, an amazing mother and the kindest person I know.”

He said she and her husband had chosen to live on a kibbutz because she “deliberately chose the uncomfortable. That’s Adi in a few words. She did what was right, not what was comfortable.”

Lt. Eden Nimri was killed by Hamas during a battle at Kibbutz Nahal Oz.Israel Defense Force

Another woman who was killed that day was IDF Lt. Eden Nimri, a 22-year-old officer in the artillery’s drone unit as well as an elite swimmer who competed for Israel, according to The Times of Israel.

Nimri served as a commander of an all-female team in the elite “Sky Riders” unit, whose four members were saved, possibly by her, while fighting against Hamas terrorists in Kibbutz Nahal Oz.

“She coolly led a battle on Saturday morning together with her fighters and ultimately sacrificed herself so they would stay alive,” her boyfriend told Kan public radio.

Nimri was “the most beautiful, the smartest, the bravest,” said the boyfriend, who cannot be named because of his military service.

She represented Israel at the 2018 European Junior Open Water Swimming Championships, where she finished 30th.

Nimri also competed at the International School Sport Federation’s 2017 World Championships and at the 2014 Mediterranean Cup, according to The Times of Israel.

“Eden was an amazing girl, a good friend, competitive, extremely hardworking, highly self-disciplined, worked hard, always aimed high, set goals and met them,” the Israel Swimming Association posted on Instagram.

Karin Journo remains missing.AP

Meanwhile, French-Israeli woman Karin Journo remains missing after she attended the music festival where 260 people were slaughtered.

Despite having a broken leg, the airport worker decided to go to the Supernova event and even danced in her protective boot before gunshots erupted and rockets streaked overhead, The Times of Israel reported.

Her best friend, Neta Abir Lev, survived the massacre but said on Instagram that she became separated from Journo, who likely was unable to escape due to her leg.

“I pray that my miracle is our miracle,” Abir Lev wrote. “That you’ll come home and we’ll have a cigarette and go over it all.”

But Journo’s dad, Doron, said the last text she sent to the family read: “To the whole family, I want to say that I love you a lot, because I am not coming home.”
