Rob Gronkowski is getting ready to return to the field.

But it’s not what you think.

The four-time Super Bowl champion told TMZ Thursday he wants to represent Team USA when Flag Football debuts at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, Calif.

“Count me in already,” Gronkowski told the outlet.

The future Hall of Famer retired in 2022 after his second season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Hopefully there’s no tryouts and they just accept me,” Gronkowski, the five-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro, said. “But I’m in. I’m going for that if there is flag Football in the Olympics in 2028. USA going all the way.”

Gronkowski, who initially retired after the 2018 season following a nine-year run with the Patriots, will be 39 by the time the 2028 Summer Olympics begin.

Flag football was among five sports recommended for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics by the International Olympic Committee, according to the Associated Press.

Also on the list are cricket, baseball-softball, lacrosse and squash.

The sports are expected to be officially elevated Monday in a meeting with approximately 100 IOC members.

“These proposals have been accepted as a package,” said IOC president Thomas Bach, who chairs the 15-member board, hailing a showcase of “iconic American sports to the world while bringing at the same time international sports to the United States.”

Bach praised flag football, which was a hit at the 2023 Pro Bowl, for growing in popularity globally “in particular among girls and women.”

“With flag football you are avoiding some of the challenges with injuries that American football is facing,” he said.

Each team sport added will have six-nation competitions for men and women.
