News24 | Saturday's weather: Mostly warm with scattered thundershowers

The South African Weather Service has warned of disruptive rain resulting in localised flooding in low-lying areas. A fire warning has also been issued in some parts.

Impact-based warnings

A yellow level 1 warning has been issued. Disruptive rain resulting in localised flooding of settlements, roads, low-lying areas and bridges is expected along the south Coast of the Eastern Cape until the afternoon. 

Fire danger warnings

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Waterberg District Municipality, the north-western parts of Mpumalanga as well as the eastern parts of the North West.

The weather in your province 

The weather in Gauteng is expected to be fine and warm, with the UVB sunburn index expected to be extreme.

In Mpumalanga, morning fog patches and evening drizzle along the escarpment can be expected, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm.

The North West will be fine and warm to hot.

Fine and warm weather is predicted in the Free State but cool in the south.

It will be cloudy along the coast in the morning in the Northern Cape, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but cool along the coast and southern interior where it will be partly cloudy. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

In the Western Cape it will be cloudy along the south coast and adjacent interior in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm. Hot temperatures can be expected over the northern parts of the west coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly to easterly becoming strong along the south-west and south coast in the afternoon. The UVB sunburn index is predicted to be very high.

The Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy in the north and cold to cool with isolated showers and rain in the south, but scattered along the coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly, becoming easterly from the evening.

Morning fog patches are expected over the western interior of KwaZulu-Natal, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm. Isolated showers and rain are expected along the extreme south coast. The expected UVB sunburn index is predicted to be moderate.
