California Gov. Newsom praises Cuomo over handling of pandemic

Disgraced ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has a big fan in California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Newsom went out his way to praise Cuomo about his initial handling of the COVID-19 pandemic during an interview this week on NewsNation.

The far-left Newsom was being interviewed by anchor Chris Cuomo, the former governor’s brother, who was previously fired from CNN for allegedly violating the network’s ethics policies.

“By the way, your brother did a magnificent job in the beginning,” Newsom gushed to Chris Cuomo. “I applauded what your brother did early in this pandemic.”

He then compared California’s per-capita deaths and other peak-pandemic-era metrics against Florida’s under Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, SFGate reported.

Newson also shot down earlier reports that he’s eying a 2024 presidential run and said he would continue to back President Joe Biden.

Andrew Cuomo resigned in August 2021 during his third term as governor as he faced impeachment by the Assembly over accusations of sexual misconduct as well as a documented effort to cover up data showing more nursing home residents had died of COVID-19 than previously reported by his administration.
