Tennessee retains most of its underrated defensive talent, with everyone in good health, and maintains continuity with Shane Bowen as the defensive coordinator.

On the other hand, New Orleans enters 2023 with an aging roster and a new quarterback in Derek Carr. While the Saints may benefit from having the league’s easiest schedule this year, there are reservations about Carr’s declining efficiency over the past seasons.

The team heavily relies on the post-production performance of aging veterans, especially in key positions like the defensive line. New Orleans has been addressing roster gaps for some time, and Carr’s addition continues this trend. His accuracy has seen a gradual decline in the last two seasons, establishing a consistent pattern of his NFL quarterback capabilities.

In evaluating these two teams, they appear fairly evenly matched. Taking home-field advantage into account, I’m inclined to support the Titans at +3 or better for Week 1.
