Yours in gossip headed out to the watch party of the infamous Mtv Shuga Down South season three, which was hosted by the MTV Staying Alive Foundation in Sandton on Monday.

Shwa heard from a little birdie that there were actually two events for the screening, with an exclusive stakeholder panel discussion and watch. Both events were, however, showcased at an exclusive viewing of the first episode of the exciting 10-part drama series that will première on June 27.

It was interesting to hear that actress Stephanie Ndlovu is the co-chair of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation. The MTV Shuga cast and crew highlighted how the foundation is changing lives through the show as well as MTV
Shuga multi-media campaigns that help empower young people to make positive decisions about their health.

It is really refreshing to see that they still make shows that educate the youth about their everyday struggles. It
reminds me of back in the day when we still had Soul Buddyz, Soul City and
Intersections.

The evening watch party was hosted by BET presenter Nomalanga Shozi, who rolled out the black and white carpet for the show’s seasoned cast, as well as the new faces of MTV Shuga unearthed from an open call to the public late last year including Ayakha Ntunja, Chidera Nwoha, Palesa Mothopi and Lobisa Tsatsi.

The evening also featured a live flash mob, giving MTV Shuga fans watching online a glimpse of the vibe for this new season. Shwa spotted celebrities and influencers such as James Sithole, Buntu Petse, Ayanda Nzimande, Tshiamo Molobi, Prev Reddy and Tansey Coetzee, who came out to support to the MTV Staying Alive Foundation’s mission, and guests were treated to exclusive episodes of the upcoming
series.

Ziya Xulu, who is also a part of the new series Shaka iLembe, is clearly making her name known on the small screens and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for us on MTV Shuga.

Mika Stefano, it was lovely to see that you are still in the entertainment business; long time no see, hey.

Tebatso Mashishi, Shwa hopes you have sorted your bedroom issues this year and will not be making it in the headlines for the wrong reasons. My
advice is to stay away from groupies; they will ruin your career.
