How to Uninstall League of Legends

Uninstalling League of Legends from your computer can be motivated by various factors, such as the toxic environment in ranked solo queue or encountering unpleasant players from your region. Another possibility could be a corrupted League client that necessitates a reinstallation to resolve the issue. Regardless of the reason, removing League of Legends from your PC is a personal decision. Fortunately, the uninstallation process is straightforward on both Windows and Mac operating systems. Below are the steps to uninstall League of Legends on each platform:

Uninstalling League of Legends on Windows:

1. Open the Control Panel and select “Programs and Features.”
2. Locate the entry for League of Legends.
3. Right-click on League of Legends and choose “Uninstall.”
4. Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation process.

Once you have completed these steps, the installed version of League of Legends will be removed from your PC. However, there may still be saved files in the directory where the game was installed. If you wish to free up some space by deleting these files, follow these additional steps:

1. Locate the directory where League of Legends is installed.
2. By default, it is usually located on the C: drive.
3. Select all the League of Legends files in that directory and delete them.
4. Restart your computer.

After following these steps, League of Legends will no longer be present on your PC. It’s important to note that if you don’t delete your Riot Account, your skins, levels, and in-game currency will remain intact since they are stored in the cloud. This means you can reinstall the game at any time without losing your progress.

Uninstalling League of Legends on Mac:

1. Open the Applications folder on your Mac.
2. Locate the League of Legends application.
3. You can access the Applications folder quickly by pressing Command+Shift+G and entering “/Applications” in the dialog box.
4. Click and drag the League of Legends application to the Trash Can icon in your Dock.
5. Find the Riot Games Folder on your Mac and drag it into the Trash Can as well.
6. To locate the Riot Games Folder, press Command+Shift+C, and in the search bar, enter “MacintoshHD/Users/Shared/Riot Games.”
7. Open the Trash Can and select “Empty Trash” to permanently remove the files.

By following these steps, League of Legends and its associated data will be uninstalled from your Mac. If you wish to reinstall the game in the future, visit the official League of Legends website to download the client.
