The official Pokedex was only available in Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. This meant that Russian fans had to rely on translations or their own ingenuity to learn about the game’s creatures.
One such fan was Alexander Zhitinsky. Zhitinsky’s son was a big Pokemon fan, and he wanted to be able to help his son to learn about the game. So, Zhitinsky took it upon himself to create his own Unofficial Pokedex.

Zhitinsky’s Unofficial Pokedex
Zhitinsky’s Pokedex was a labor of love and it may make his case as the best dad ever. He spent hours translating the game’s data into Russian, and he even added his own commentary. The result was a unique and hilarious take on the Pokedex.

Zhitinsky’s Pokedex is a treasure trove of information and humor. It is a must-read for all Pokemon fans, regardless of their nationality. In addition, it is a heartwarming story as it is an act of love by a father to his son.
I think Zhitinsky’s Pokedex is funny in a good way because it is so honest and straightforward. He doesn’t try to make the Pokemon seem more powerful or impressive than they really are. He just tells it like it is. This makes the Pokedex a lot more relatable and enjoyable to read.
