In 1628 a Dutch ship the Batavia left
the Netherlands bound for the Dutch EastIndies on board were over 300 men womenand children and a huge amount of goldand silver for trade thousands gatheredat the port in Texel to bid them a safejourney no one could have possiblyimagined the horrors that lay aheadseveral months into the journey afterstopping at Cape Town for suppliesthe skipper deliberately steered theship off course this was all part of aplot he had contrived with apsychopathic genius named Geronimo'sCornelius they along with several others
on board had planned a mutiny whichwould see them take the ship along withall its gold and silver in 1629 on June
the 4th the ships struck a reef on agroup of islands off the coast ofWestern Australia absolute chaos ensuedand a mad scramble was made for theship's longboat and y'all of the 322
aboard 40 drowned the remainingsurvivors managed to drag themselvesashore a very basic camp was set up onthe island with whatever they couldsalvage from the wreckage
the hot days were unforgiving and therewas no fresh water on any of the islandsafter unsuccessfully scouring themainland for watercommander pelsaert and some select crewmembers took their 30-foot long boat ona 33 day journey to Indonesia to seekhelpincredibly everyone aboard survived
while the commander was away Corneliusand his band of followers seize theirchance to take over what ensued next wasthe stuff of nightmares as thebloodthirsty Enclave to further andbegan their reign of terror those whoprotested was slaughtered others who
refuse to follow Cornelius had theirskulls smashed in or were drowned in thecold seathere were also tales of cannibalism andviolent acts of depravity fighting backcould only do so much as the numbers ofsadistic followers increased the othershad no choice but to fall intosubmissionCornelius
unfortunately for him Elsa returned upon
learning of the massacre Elsa orderedhis troops to capture Cornelius and hismen a bloody battle ensued the superior
firepower of health arts trainedsoldiers won out in the end those who
survived were captureda decision was made to hold a trial onthe armed as transporting and securingthe accused would have been impossibledue to the limited room on the rescuevessels the worst of the offenders werestrapped to a large wagon wheel and thenbrutally beaten until all of their boneswere smashed and shattered this form ofpunishment was known as being broken onthe wheel it was the most severe form of
punishment to be subjected to at thetime however even after a horrificbeating some refused to die it was onlyonce a state was driven through theirheart that they would finally succumb todeath others had their hands chopped offand were then hung and left for the
births even with a broken neck some
continued to scream for hours only two
was sparedconsidered minor offenders that weregiven a meager amount of food and waterand were told to make their way to thedesolate mainland what became of themis unknown they were never heard fromagain
