Elkonin boxes are popular. Teachers use them in school to teach pupils how to read and spell.
These Elkonin Boxes are a set of boxes that represent the sounds in a word, and as the student says each sound, they understand and remember them.
Teachers with the elkonin boxes ask their students to place a token or counter in each box to represent a sound in a word.
