‘Helpless’ Britney Spears reveals her reaction to video of security guard slapping her

Britney Spears revealed she wanted to “cry out on all levels” after being slapped in the face by NBA star Victor Wembanyama’s Security Guard.

The “Gimme More” singer took to Instagram Friday to share her reaction to a viral video of her screaming, “That’s America for you! F—k you all!” moments after the guard backhanded her outside Catch restaurant in Las Vegas.

“I don’t feel like I have been treated as an equal person in this country … of course when I watched the video myself … the people who actually swarmed around me when they heard me get hit made me feel like I mattered !!!” she wrote.

“I wasn’t aware of that at the time … all people could hear was me saying f—k you all … which was WAY BETTER THAN HITTING HIM BACK 🙄🙄 🙄 !!!”

Spears, 41, acknowledged that her reaction to Wednesday’s incident was “BAD” but likened it to the constraints of her 13-year conservatorship, which ended in 2021.

“I have felt helpless in most situations,” she shared, “and my experience in Vegas and my reaction was a cry out on all levels … I will say it !!!”

Cellphone footage obtained by TMZ showed the pop star approaching Wembanyama, 19, from behind while out with her husband, Sam Asghari, and her manager, Cade Hudson.

“Excuse me, sir,” Spears could be heard saying to the San Antonio Spurs player seconds before his Security guard Damian Smith reached back to smack her, knocking off her sunglasses.

The “Toxic” singer pointed out in Friday’s Instagram post that she had merely tapped Wembanyama on the shoulder and has never experienced a bodyguard assaulting a fan before.

“Not one time in my life has a security guard ever hit another person,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I’ve been working in the industry for years and have been with some of the most famous people in the world,” she wrote.

“NSYNC at one point were like The Beatles … girls would throw themselves at them everywhere we went … not one time in my life has a security guard ever hit another person!”

“It’s not his fault his security hit me … s—t happens !!!” she concluded.

The “Hold Me Closer” vocalist filed a police report against Smith after the encounter, but the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department declined to file charges against him.

“Due to the fact that (Smith) did not willfully or unlawfully use any force or violence upon Britney and probable cause did not exist, an arrest was not made and a citation was not given,” read a police report obtained by Page Six.
