Subpoenaed financial records indicate that a Hunter Biden business associate gave thousands of dollars to Hallie Biden.
According to subpoenaed financial records acquired by the House Oversight Committee, members of the Biden family received payments of over $1 million from bank accounts connected to Hunter Biden’s business associate Rob Walker and their Chinese business endeavors in 2017.
Walker collaborated with Hunter Biden, President Biden’s brother Jim, their business partner James Gilliar, and Tony Bobulinksi on a joint-venture named Sinohawk Holdings, which was established to form a partnership with Chinese energy company CEFC.
Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., obtained the records by subpoenaing Bank of America, which revealed that a bank account under the name of “Robinson Walker, LLC” made profitable payments to “at least three family members.” Hallie Biden, President Biden’s son Beau’s widow, is among the family members.
On Thursday, a spokesperson for Hunter Biden’s legal team acknowledged the payments but emphasized that the accounts “belonged to Hunter, his uncle, and Hallie – no one else.”
According to the records, State Energy HK Limited, a different Chinese firm, wired $3 million to Robinson Walker, LLC on March 1, 2017, less than two months following former Vice President Joe Biden’s departure from office.
As per a memo from the committee, “The following day, Robinson Walker, LLC transferred $1,065,000 to the European Energy and Infrastructure Group located in Abu Dhabi, a company connected to James Gilliar.”
Gilliar was a business partner of Hunter Biden who was involved in his overseas business endeavors.
The memo notes, “After State Energy HK Limited wired $3 million to the Robinson Walker, LLC account, members of the Biden family and their associated companies began receiving intermittent payments over a span of approximately three months. The recipients of the payments consisted of Hallie Biden, firms associated with Hunter Biden and James Biden, and an anonymous bank account identified as ‘Biden.'”
As stated by the committee, Hallie Biden, President Biden’s daughter-in-law and the widow of President Biden’s son Beau who later was romantically involved with Hunter, received two payments in March 2017 from Walker’s account – Robinson Walker, LLC – totaling $25,000.
Between March and May of 2017, an unidentified bank account labeled as “Biden” also received $70,000 from Robinson Walker, LLC.
Additionally, an account titled “Owasco P.C.,” which was owned by Hunter Biden, obtained $500,000 between March and May of 2017.
An account titled “JBBSR INC,” which was owned by James Biden, was granted $360,000 between March and May of 2017.
Another account, labeled “First Clearing, LLC,” also received $100,000. Though it is uncertain who owned this account, committee sources informed Fox News Digital that it is assumed to belong to Hunter Biden.
Comer stated in a Thursday statement, “It is not clear what services were rendered to warrant this excessive amount of money.”
“The Oversight Committee is alarmed about the potential national security consequences that arise from foreign nationals providing millions of dollars to President Biden’s family,” Comer expressed. “We will continue to track the financial trail and gather evidence to determine if President Biden is compromised by his family’s business arrangements and whether there is a threat to national security.”
When questioned about the financial documents revealing the payments of over $1 million to members of the Biden family, the White House did not deny the information, but instead criticized Comer and the committee’s investigation into the Biden family.
“After making a despicable attack lamenting that the President’s deceased son Beau was never charged while he was alive, Congressman Comer has now decided to target Beau’s widow,” stated White House spokesperson Ian Sams, referring to comments Comer made earlier this month regarding the late Beau Biden’s political donations.
“Instead of bizarrely attacking the President’s family, House Republicans should concentrate on partnering with the President to accomplish outcomes for American families on important issues like reducing expenses and strengthening healthcare,” responded Sams.
A spokesperson for Hunter Biden’s legal team stated, “Here we go again as Rep. Comer takes something old and tries to make it new by wrapping it in a wild and baseless right-wing conspiracy.”
“Hunter Biden, a private citizen with the right to pursue his own business interests, teamed up with several business partners to seek a joint venture with a privately-owned, legitimate energy firm in China,” the spokesperson explained. “As part of that joint venture, Hunter was given his share of seed funds in good faith, which he shared with his uncle, James Biden, and Hallie Biden, with whom he was involved with at the time, and also split expenses.”
The spokesperson, however, confirmed the payments: “The accounts so dramatically listed by Rep. Comer belonged to Hunter, his uncle and Hallie – nobody else.”
Hallie Biden did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
A House Oversight Committee spokesperson responded to the White House, though, telling Fox News Digital that the panel is “investigating how the Biden family benefited from influence peddling and if President Biden is compromised by his family’s business transactions with foreign adversaries.”
“Bank records reveal that James Biden, Hunter Biden, Hallie Biden, and an unknown ‘Biden’ received money from Rob Walker’s company after it received a $3 million wire from a Chinese energy company,” the spokesperson said. “The White House should answer questions about why the Biden family received an exorbitant amount of money from China rather than attempt to distract from the facts contained in these bank records.”
But in a statement to Fox News Digital, committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said the Comer memo “proved once again that, after four years of investigations by Senate and House Republicans into Hunter Biden, they have found no connection to the President of the United States or indeed any government official at all.”
Raskin said there “always remains the possibility of doing serious bipartisan legislative oversight work together.”
