Veteran broadcaster, Cyril Stober has been ordained a knight of the Methodist Church, Nigeria.

The former Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) anchor was ordained on Sunday as family and friends witnessed the occasion and celebrated his ordination.

Stober retired from the NTA in 2015 and wedded another broadcaster with the NTA, Elizabeth Banu, in January 2018.

NTA reported that the couple had their traditional wedding in Banu’s hometown in Garkida, Adamawa State.

The two broadcasters are famed for casting the network news and anchoring the program Tuesday Live, also on the NTA network.

At the occasion, many colleagues, NTA staff, friends and family members were present to felicitate the couple.

Stober was born in Minna, Niger State. He was previously married to an ex-broadcaster also with the NTA, Efun Merriman-Johnson, who is currently based in the United Kingdom.

Stober interviewed world leaders among others during his time at the NTA.

Zamfara Journalist Hamisu Found Dead In Soakaway

Meanwhile, a missing journalist with Voice of Nigeria (VON), Hamisu Danjibga, has been found dead in Zamfara State.

The Secretary of the Zamfara state chapter of the Nigeria Union Journalist (NUJ), Ibrahim Gada, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Gusau, the state capital.

According to the NUJ, the reporter was declared missing earlier in the week but was later found dead in a soakaway behind his house three days later.

The union, therefore, expressed deep concern over the nature of Danjibga’s demise and appealed to security agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to justice.
