Popular Businesswoman Kidnapped By Heavy Armed Criminals In Port Harcourt

A popular businesswoman identified as Onyi Ugba, at Okija Street, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

OsunDailyNG learned that this comes barely six months after armed robbers invaded her superstore on Okija Street in December 2022 and carted away a huge sum of money running in millions.

According to DAILY POST, the heavily armed criminals, numbering about five, stormed Ugba’s superstore on Friday, demanding the businesswoman to hand over all the money she made from sales to them.

The gunmen reportedly got infuriated when Ugba was unable to provide the amount of money they demanded, and they started shooting sporadically before whisking her away while the people around the scene of the incident scampered for safety.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said when personnel of the Mile 1 Police station arrived at the scene, the criminals had already left.

She assured that the police were on the case to ensure the victim’s rescue and the perpetrators’ arrest.
