Yesterday, August 12,  the East Hampton Library presented their 19th Annual Authors Night fundraiser. This is o ne of the most popular and celebrity-studded events of the Hamptons’ summer calendar.


Authors Night features 100 authors across all genres. First up Jim Ascota CNN anchor and Chief Domestic Correspondent and his book “Enemy Of The People”

Lauren Graham, is best known for her roles as Lorelai Gilmore on The WB/CW television series Gilmore Girls (2000–2007), for which she received nominations for Screen Actors Guild, Golden Globe and Satellite Awards, and as Sarah Braverman on the NBC television drama Parenthood (2010–2015). Graham’s film work includes roles in Sweet November (2001), Bad Santa (2003), The Pacifier (2005), Because I Said So (2007), and Evan Almighty (2007). She published her debut novel with Ballantine Booksin 2013, Someday, Someday, Maybe. In 2016, Graham reprised her role as Lorelai Gilmore on Netflix’s reunion miniseries Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and published a memoir, Talking as Fast as I Can.

Bill Boggs, is a celebrity correspondent for the PBS TV show “My Generation.” He is a four-time Emmy Award winning television interviewer and producer. His long and diverse career on television has included hosting several talk shows as well as anchoring the news for NBC, starring in a game show for CBS, a syndicated comedy show for FOX, and series on Showtime, The Travel Channel, The Food Network and more.

Tom Clavin is a bestselling author of 18 nonfiction books on American and military history, sports, and entertainment. He previously worked as a newspaper editor and writer,including for the New York Times for 15 years, and as a writer for such magazines as the Smithsonian and Men’s Journal. 

Alafair Burke is the New York Times, Edgar Award nominated author of twenty crime novels

Lenny Ackerman has been a columnist for The Mountain Messenger- the oldest, continually published weekly newspaper in California

Carolyn Ferrell’s book Dear Miss Metropolitan (Holt, 2021), was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel and the PEN Faulkner Award for Fiction.

Robert Caro worked for six years as an investigative reporter for Newsday.

Geoffrey S. Berman, was previously the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he oversaw the investigation and litigation of all criminal and civil cases. His New York Times Best Selling memoir Holding the Line: Inside the Nation’s Preeminent US Attorney’s Office and Its Battle with the Trump Justice Department describes Geoff’s leadership of SDNY and some of the challenges he and his leadership team. The Senate Judiciary Committee has opened an investigation of the Trump Justice Department based on the political interference detailed by Geoff in this book.

Don Bentley is the New York Times Bestselling author of the Matt Drake thriller series including Hostile IntentThe Outside Man, and Without Sanction as well as . Don also writes in the Tom Clancy Jack Ryan, Jr. universe with Zero HourTarget Acquired, and one forthcoming title.
