Deadly Party; Ex-MLB Pitcher Arrested; Death Threats: NorCal In Brief

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — As the weekend wraps up, we’ve rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories, residents should know that it will be drier Monday after scattered showers moved through the Bay Area and Central Coast over the weekend.

“Not too much day to day variation in the weather going through midweek,” NWS Bay Area forecasters wrote Sunday. “Drying trend continues Tuesday but moist onshore flow persists. Temperatures largely near or slightly below seasonal normals.”

In other news, former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Danny Serafini and a woman were arrested in connection with the murder of Serafini’s father-in-law and the attempted murder of his mother-in-law in North Lake Tahoe, authorities said.

Police were investigating disturbing messages written on a bathroom wall at a North Bay high school. A teen was shot and killed and three others were wounded at a party in the Bay Area.

Two Hells Angels members were sentenced to prison for their roles in criminal activities by a Bay Area chapter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, federal prosecutors said.

Plus, a Bay Area chapter of nonprofit Grateful Gatherings unveiled a fully furnished home to a Ukrainian family who fled their country in 2022.
