Team USA has officially advanced to the Second Round Group Stage following its win over Greece.

The United States has cruised to a 2-0 record to start the 2023 Fiba World Cup, defeating New Zealand by 27 and Greece by 28 to assert its dominance as the No. 1 ranked country in the world.

Reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero has surprisingly been the team’s leading scorer, averaging 14.5 points per game after going for a team-high 21 points in the tournament opener. Rising star Austin Reaves has been a major X-Factor for Team USA as well, averaging 13.5 points and a team-high 6.0 assists over the two wins, earning Player of the Game for the win over Greece.

If the United States wants to remain perfect through the first round of the group stage, it will have to stop Jordan’s Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who has drawn Kobe Bryant comparisons for his performance in the FIBA World Cup so far with a scoring average of 31.5 points per game.
