Betting sites expect Great Britain to be well represented in the second round of the US Open men’s and women’s singles draw, with all arrows pointing to a swathe of victories on Tuesday.

Five of the six Brits in action on Day Two of the US Open are favourites with online bookmakers. That’s quite remarkable when you consider there’s usually at least two British contenders who fall at the first hurdle every grand slam.

Andy Murray and Dan Evans are the two anchor legs in this tennis accumulator but there are some interesting other markets worth considering across the four other Brits in action. 

British interest gets underway at around 4pm UK time when Katie Boulter takes on Diane Parry. Here’s our six-fold tennis acca focusing on the British players on Tuesday.

Katie Boulter to beat Diane Parry (4pm*)

Katie Boulter is the firm favourite to Beat French opponent Diane Parry and get this acca off to a flying start. Boulter beat Parry 6-4 6-2 during an Indian Wells qualifier back in March and proved too much for the 20-year-old. 

It was her return game that forced the win for Boulter that day and she will need to be equally efficient facing serve this time around. Parry suffered a frustrating defeat to unseeded Rebecca Peterson in the first round of last week’s Challenger Chicago and looks more likely to advance in the doubles alongside Clara Burel than make an impact in the singles.

A Boulter win at 8/15 should get this acca off to a steady start.

Jodie Burrage to lose to Anna Blinkova (10pm)

Jodie Burrage was one of the big Round One winners at Wimbledon back in July when she edged Cath McNally 6-1 6-3 to set up a clash with 11th seed Daria Kasatkina. She duly lost that match 6-0 6-2. 

Since then, Burrage has struggled in the singles and her US Open preparation was dented by the defeat to Quinn Gleason in Chicago last week. The Brit takes on unseeded Anna Blinkova, who has also laboured for results since Wimbledon.

This should be a close contest that goes into three sets. However, world No 38 Blinkova has more experience at grand slams and will see this as an opportunity to make it past the first round for the first time at odds of 4/7 with BoyleSports.

Andy Murray to beat Corentin Moutet (6pm)

Andy Murray should form the basis of any tennis accumulator bet on Tuesday. The 2012 US Open champion was forced to withdraw from the Cincinnati Masters last week due to an abdominal injury, but insists he is in good shape for New York. 

Murray’s opponent Corentin Moutet fell in the first round in Cincinnati Masters to Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori after coming through two qualifying rounds. The 24-year-old was also outplayed by Brit Liam Broady when the pair met at last month’s Citi Open.

Murray should have no problem seeing off Moutet but the problem he’ll face is maintaining his body over five-set matches. UK bookmakers reckon he’ll have this one wrapped up with relative ease at odds of 1/4. How deep he goes into the tournament is another matter, though.

Cameron Norrie to beat Alexander Shevchenko in four sets (6pm)

This is one of the tastier US Open betting options for the first round in New York. Cam Norrie is as short as 1/5 to beat Alexander Shevchenko but this might not be a smooth ride. Norrie’s prep for the US Open was ruined by a three-set loss to Gael Monfils in Cincinnati and he lost to Alex de Minaur in his first match of the Canadian Open.

Shevchenko hasn’t fared much better recently in terms of tournament progress but his low ranking means he’s had to battle through qualifiers and pick up form. He lost 6-4 6-3 to Dan Evans in the Citi Open last 16 and had his chances to win the match but just couldn’t nail his break points.

Shevchenko will be dangerous here and Norrie needs to be on his guard. Back the Brit to win but not in straight sets. A 3-1 victory is priced at 5/2 on BoyleSports.

Dan Evans to beat Daniel Elahi Galan in straight sets (10pm)

Speaking of Evans, the 26th seed in New York has had a miserable time of it since he won the Citi Open title, with first-round defeats to Gabriel Diallo and Lorenzo Musetti in Toronto and Cincinnati respectively. Evans is flying under the radar somewhat here, but is on a path to secure a third-round clash with top seed Carlos Alcaraz.

Evans should have no problem dispatching of clay specialist Daniel Elahi Galan, who caught the eye last year when he dumped Stefanos Tsitsipas out in the first round. Don’t expect such a shock again, and at odds of 7/4 Evans is a good bet for a straight-sets victory.

Jack Draper to beat Radu Albot (8pm)

At 21, Jack Draper is yet to truly burst onto the grand slam scene but last year’s US Open third-round exit was his best to date. He could easily go the same distance, perhaps even further, after a favourable draw at Flushing Meadows.

Draper is up against Moldovan Radu Albot, who hasn’t really offered much since he qualified for Wimbledon in June, only to fall at the first round proper. Over the course of 2023 Draper has proven to have a stronger serve on hard courts, a better return game, and has won every match where he’s claimed the first set. At 1/4 with BoyleSports, Draper’s win odds are a little slim here, but he’s worth throwing into an acca.
