British Open 2023 course and weather

This year’s British Open takes place at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, Merseyside, England. It’s a par-72 course that stretches for 7,218 yards. The venue last hosted The Open Championship in 2014. Rory McIlroy was the winner with a score of -12, outpacing second-place finisher Dustin Johnson by four strokes.

The current British Open weather forecast is calling for a dry start and average, seasonal temperatures. Winds are expected to be the heaviest at the beginning of the event before leveling off for weekend play. There’s a chance of some occasional strong gusts and late rain throughout the four-day event.

Smith aims for rare repeat

Cameron Smith was the winner of the 2022 British Open. His final score of -20 left him a stroke ahead of second-place finisher Cameron Young. Rory McIlroy finished in third at -18. • Tiger Woods, 2005-06
  • Tom Watson, 1982-83
  • Lee Trevino, 1971-72
  • Arnold Palmer, 1961-62
