The world waited eagerly to see Victor Wembanyama’s debut in the NBA Summer League. However, many fans were disappointed after his lackluster performance in his first game. Michael Rubin hosting a party for the top draft prospects became the talk of the town. Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, and many more were invited. However, Wemby’s latest decision managed to shock the entire NBA world in a second.

Victor Wembanyama got his priorities straight

The San Antonio Spurs’ number-one pick Victor Wembanyama did not have the NBA debut he had hoped for. A humble Wembanyama went in front of the media to accept his poor performance but was trolled regardless.

So, when Michael Rubin announced that he will be hosting a party for some of the NBA top prospects from the 2023 draft class, everyone expected that Wembanyama would surely attend it to get a change of pace. However, he decided not to go to the party at all. 

According to senior NBA writer Michael C. Wright, “Victor Wembanyama, 19, skipped the Summer Players Party at Tao nightclub hosted by Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin and the NBA’s Players Association. He declined the invitation to get his rest ahead of today’s game. Learning that Victor doesn’t play about his sleep.”

Wembanyama chose to focus on the bigger goal of getting in the groove of the league and getting ample hours of rest instead. And his decision shocked the NBA world to the core after the news broke out.
