17:05 Kempton: Unibet Horserace Handicap (1 mile)

Fourteen runners will contest the Unibet Horseracing Betting operator of the year apprentice handicap, which should take almost as long to run as it does to say.

The field is full of experience with plenty of winners over course and distance, plus a beaten favourite last time out in The Spotlight Kid.

Snapcracklepop is favoured by the bookies having shown promise and improvement so far in 2023. He will run with blinkers for the first time and looks like a tempting selection.

Covert Mission, Masqool and Uzincso have all recorded victories over this course and distance. The former in particular looks like a threat and is expected to run well on the artificial surface.

The Banker has opted for fifth in the market, One Step Beyond. 2022 was a successful year in refitted blinkers and he won at Lingfield last time out.

His last three runs have produced a top-two finish and further improvement is expected under new stewardship. This will be his first run for Gary Moore.
