2023 Fantasy Football Mock Draft | League Settings

This is a 12-team mock draft, with my team selecting from the fourth spot and our fantasy football analyst Kyle Soppe selecting from the 10th spot. Each player receives .5 points per reception, and touchdowns are worth six points for rushing and receiving. Quarterbacks receive four points per passing touchdown.

Here is the full roster breakdown:

  • 1 QB
  • 2 RB
  • 3 WR
  • 1 TE
  • 2 FLEX (W/R/T)
  • 6 BENCH

2023 Fantasy Football Mock Draft | Round 1

1.01) Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
1.02) Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers
1.03) Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
1.04) Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams
1.05) Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons
1.06) Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
1.07) Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
1.08) Tyreek Hill, WR, Miami Dolphins
1.09) Stefon Diggs, WR, Buffalo Bills
1.10) Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants
1.11) A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
1.12) Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Pick Analysis: As fantasy managers saw last season, the RB position is becoming less and less dependable as the top-tier options dealt with injuries. Meanwhile, the top options at WR are providing a major advantage to fantasy managers with their exorbitant target totals.

Kupp is essentially by himself in LA this season, and he figures to be in an offense that’s going to be forced to throw the ball a ton with the state of their overall roster. We should be looking at another 150+ target season for Kupp in 2023.

Round 2

2.01) Davante Adams, WR, Las Vegas Raiders
2.02) Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs
2.03) Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions
2.04) Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets
2.05) Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns
2.06) CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys
2.07) Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans
2.08) Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills
2.09) Tony Pollard, RB, Dallas Cowboys
2.10) Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens
2.11) Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, New England Patriots
2.12) Josh Jacobs, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Pick Analysis: Pollard proved last season that he doesn’t need 25 touches per game to be a star for fantasy purposes. All reports surrounding him coming out of Cowboys camp is that he’ll be 100% healthy to start the year. And for the time being, he essentially has this backfield to himself.

Round 3

3.01) Jaylen Waddle, WR, Miami Dolphins
3.02) Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints
3.03) Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
3.04) Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
3.05) DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
3.06) Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
3.07) Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions
3.08) Breece Hall, RB, New York Jets
3.09) Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
3.10) Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
3.11) Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
3.12) Calvin Ridley, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Pick Analysis: Higgins has proven in the past that people shouldn’t view Ja’Marr Chase as the WR1 and Higgins as the clear WR2. This tandem should be viewed as a 1A/1B in a situation that is tied to one of the best QBs in the NFL right now. As a WR2 on my roster, Higgins is a solid selection here.

Round 4

4.01) DK Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks
4.02) Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers
4.03) Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
4.04) Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
4.05) Amari Cooper, WR, Cleveland Browns
4.06) Ken Walker III, RB, Seattle Seahawks
4.07) Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers
4.08) DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Tennessee Titans
4.09) Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings
4.10) Jerry Jeudy, WR, Denver Broncos
4.11) T.J. Hockenson, TE, Minnesota Vikings
4.12) Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders

Pick Analysis: Mattison’s ADP has not caught up to the news that Dalvin Cook is no longer in town, but this is where I figure he’ll be going off the board in about a month’s time.

Whenever Cook has missed time with an injury, Mattison has stepped up and shouldered a huge workload for the Vikings, and as a result, he’s been dominant for fantasy purposes.

Mattison now has this backfield to himself, and he could easily be a top-12 RB for fantasy football this season with the opportunity he has in front of him. We don’t need to overthink this one.

2023 Fantasy Football Mock Draft | Round 5

5.01) Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers
5.02) J.K. Dobbins, RB, Baltimore Ravens
5.03) D’Andre Swift, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
5.04) Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers
5.05) Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons
5.06) Miles Sanders, RB, Carolina Panthers
5.07) Justin Fields, QB, Chicago Bears
5.08) George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers
5.09) Dameon Pierce, RB, Houston Texans
5.10) Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
5.11) DJ Moore, WR, Chicago Bears
5.12) Mike Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Pick Analysis: Yes, the 49ers aren’t going to be a pass-happy unit in 2023, but Aiyuk has proven that he can get open at will in the NFL and earn targets. Many fantasy managers prefer his teammate, Deebo Samuel, but Aiyuk is the more intriguing San Francisco WR for me heading into this season.

Round 6

6.01) Kyle Pitts, TE, Atlanta Falcons
6.02) Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers
6.03) James Conner, RB, Arizona Cardinals
6.04) Cam Akers, RB, Los Angeles Rams
6.05) Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
6.06) Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
6.07) Dalvin Cook, RB, Free Agent
6.08) Marquise Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals
6.09) Javonte Williams, RB, Denver Broncos
6.10) Christian Kirk, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
6.11) Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Indianapolis Colts
6.12) Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks

Pick Analysis: As the RB3 on my roster, I could afford to take a shot on Williams panning out this season. Yes, he’s coming off of an injury, but the talent level is off the charts. If Denver’s offense can improve under Sean Payton, look out.

Round 7

7.01) Darren Waller, TE, Las Vegas Raiders
7.02) Rachaad White, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
7.03) David Montgomery, RB, Detroit Lions
7.04) Treylon Burks, WR, Tennessee Titans
7.05) Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles
7.06) Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
7.07) Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks
7.08) Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
7.09) Pat Freiermuth, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers
7.10) Evan Engram, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars
7.11) Diontae Johnson, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
7.12) Jahan Dotson, WR, Washington Commanders

Pick Analysis: Hopkins is now in town, which certainly affects Burks’ overall potential target volume. However, for what Burks loses in target opportunity, he gains in defenses now having to dedicate more attention away from him.

All reports coming out of Tennessee are that Burks is primed for a big season, as Adam Caplan reported in his recent notebook, and I’m a big believer in the talent.

Round 8

8.01) Zach Charbonnet, RB, Seattle Seahawks
8.02) Jordan Addison, WR, Minnesota Vikings
8.03) George Pickens, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
8.04) Antonio Gibson, RB, Washington Commanders
8.05) Brandin Cooks, WR, Dallas Cowboys
8.06) Kadarius Toney, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
8.07) Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
8.08) Gabe Davis, WR, Buffalo Bills
8.09) AJ Dillon, RB, Green Bay Packers
8.10) Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints
8.11) JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, New England Patriots
8.12) James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills

Pick Analysis: Dillon could be in line for a massive opportunity this season as Matt LaFleur is finally free to implement the exact scheme he wants with Aaron Rodgers out of town. When LaFleur was in Tennessee, the Titans looked to control the clock and lean on the run game routinely, which favors a running back like Dillon, who can shoulder a massive workload.

2023 Fantasy Football Mock Draft | Round 9

9.01) Rashaad Penny, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
9.02) Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
9.03) Brian Robinson, RB, Washington Commanders
9.08) Elijah Moore, WR, Cleveland Browns
9.05) Jamaal Williams, RB, New Orleans Saints
9.06) Deshaun Watson, QB, Cleveland Browns
9.07) Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins
9.08) Anthony Richardson, QB, Indianapolis Colts
9.09) Courtland Sutton, WR, Denver Broncos
9.10) Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens
9.11) Samaje Perine, RB, Denver Broncos
9.12) Kirk Cousins, QB, Minnesota Vikings

Pick Analysis: We know how talented Moore is, but the situation in New York last season was absolutely horrific for a variety of reasons. Now that he’s in Cleveland, no one is receiving more hype in training camp than the third-year wideout. Here in the ninth round is a perfect spot to take a shot on a bounce-back campaign from the explosive playmaker.

Round 10

10.01) Rashod Bateman, WR, Baltimore Ravens
10.02) Dalton Schultz, TE, Houston Texans
10.03) Jakobi Meyers, WR, New England Patriots
10.04) David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns
10.05) Devon Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins
10.06) Jameson Williams, WR, Detroit Lions
10.07) Allen Lazard, WR, New York Jets
10.08) Aaron Rodgers, QB, New York Jets
10.09) Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions
10.10) Khalil Herbert, RB, Chicago Bears
10.11) Tyler Allgeier, RB, Atlanta Falcons
10.12) Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants

Pick Analysis: If I’m unable to get one of the top six or seven QBs, I’m perfectly comfortable waiting and scooping up Goff for much cheaper. Last season, the Lions’ offense was humming, and not much changed going into 2023. Goff is a safe and reliable QB for fantasy purposes this season.

Round 11

11.01) Damien Harris, RB, Buffalo Bills
11.02) Elijah Mitchell, RB, San Francisco 49ers
11.03) Geno Smith, QB, Seattle Seahawks
11.04) Greg Dulcich, TE, Denver Broncos
11.05) Chigoziem Okonkwo, TE, Tennessee Titans
11.06) Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Baltimore Ravens
11.07) Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills
11.08) Russell Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos
11.09) Jerick McKinnon, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
11.10) Raheem Mostert, RB, Miami Dolphins
11.11) Kendre Miller, RB, New Orleans Saints
11.12) Bryce Young, QB, Carolina Panthers

Pick Analysis: Dulcich was able to produce a bit as a rookie TE, which isn’t always the case. We saw his playmaking ability on display on numerous occasions, and Payton has already discussed utilizing him around the formation this season. Dulcich is a solid dart-throw option later on in drafts.

Round 12

12.01) Cole Kmet, TE, Chicago Bears
12.02) Sam LaPorta, TE, Detroit Lions
12.03) Rashee Rice, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
12.04) Adam Thielen, WR, Carolina Panthers
12.05) Skyy Moore, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
12.06) Darnell Mooney, WR, Chicago Bears
12.07) Tyler Boyd, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
12.08) Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Free Agent
12.09) Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
12.10) Devin Singletary, RB, Houston Texans
12.11) Tyler Higbee, TE, Los Angeles Rams
12.12) D’Onta Foreman, RB, Chicago Bears

Pick Analysis: Warren nearly took over this backfield in 2022 after coming into the league as a UDFA. With a full offseason under his belt, Warren could work his way into significant touches this season in Pittsburgh. That’s worth adding onto my roster as a bench stash.

2023 Fantasy Football Mock Draft | Round 13

13.01) Rondale Moore, WR, Arizona Cardinals
13.02) Jonathan Mingo, WR, Carolina Panthers
13.03) Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers
13.04) Tank Bigsby, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
13.05) Roschon Johnson, RB, Chicago Bears
13.06) Michael Mayer, TE, Las Vegas Raiders
13.07) Jeff Wilson Jr., RB, Miami Dolphins
13.08) Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans
13.09) Kyler Murray, QB, Arizona Cardinals
13.10) Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Cleveland Browns
13.11) Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams
13.12) Tyjae Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans

Pick Analysis: Bigsby is not a household name yet, but his skill set pairs perfectly with Etienne in Jacksonville. We could easily see Bigsby emerge as the first and second-down option for this offense, which figures to be a powerful unit yet again in 2023.

Round 14

14.01) Jerome Ford, RB, Cleveland Browns
14.02) Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers
14.03) Leonard Fournette, RB, Free Agent
14.04) DJ Chark, WR, Carolina Panthers
14.05) Dawson Knox, TE, Buffalo Bills
14.06) Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
14.07) Gerald Everett, TE, Los Angeles Chargers
14.08) Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys
14.09) Trey Lance, QB, San Francisco 49ers
14.10) Zay Jones, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
14.11) Rashid Shaheed, WR, New Orleans Saints
14.12) Juwan Johnson, TE, New Orleans Saints

Pick Analysis: Goff was my solid and reliable addition at the QB position a few rounds earlier, but Lance is a pure upside pick.

We don’t know yet how the QB battle is going to shake out in San Francisco, but Lance’s rushing ability is too good to pass up for fantasy football. If he doesn’t become the starting QB, I can simply release him and pick up one of the top waiver options in Week 1.

Round 15

15.01) Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, New York Giants
15.02) Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers
15.03) Taysom Hill, TE, New Orleans Saints
15.04) Jayden Reed, WR, Green Bay Packers
15.05) Chase Brown, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
15.06) Jalin Hyatt, WR, New York Giants
15.07) Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens
15.08) Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
15.09) Van Jefferson, WR, Los Angeles Rams
15.10) K.J. Osborn, WR, Minnesota Vikings
15.11) DeWayne McBride, RB, Minnesota Vikings
15.12) Kareem Hunt, RB, Free Agent

Pick Analysis: There’s a ton of unknowns in Green Bay this year. Christian Watson was dominant in stretches last season, but there’s no telling who Jordan Love will lock onto in 2023.

Reed is an incredibly underrated WR that should be the starting slot option for Green Bay right away. He could be a target hog for Love over the middle of the field and an incredible value in fantasy drafts.
