Mitsubishi’s Australian arm has made a few adjustments to the ASX family for the new model year. Otherwise marketed as the Outlander Sport in the United States, the 2024 Mitsubishi Asx now features the ES Street Pack, a bundle of goodies said to have been designed for the local market.

Only available with several paint finishes like White Diamond, Black, and Sterling Silver, the pack brings black skid plates at both ends with red highlights. Black was also used on the front spoiler, tailgate protector, and door handles, whereas the scuff plates have a stainless steel look.

There is a side decal package included, a Street decal on the tailgate, and a leather-wrapped gear shifter with an aluminum knob. As for the rest of the interior, it features the same black cloth upholstery as the ES trim level, which also gets automatic climate control, front LED fog lamps, rear parking sensors, dusk-sensing headlamps with automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers and 18-inch alloys.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Asx Family, however, starts with the GS, which has 16-inch steel wheels, black cloth upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen display, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four speaker audio, digital radio, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. On the safety front, it has an emergency brake assist, forward collision mitigation, hill-start assist, and a reversing camera.

Sitting above the GS and ES is the MR, with its 18-inch wheels sporting a black finish. The same hue can be found on the grille and side mirror caps. This model also brings rear privacy windows, a smart key, leather wrapped around the steering wheel, gear shifter, and parking brake stitched together with red string, and a six-speaker audio system.

Choosing the LS trim level will get you illuminated vanity mirrors, black roof rails, and additional safety gizmos, such as lane departure warning, lane change assist, blind spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. The GSR sports black exterior accents, 18-inch alloys, aluminum pedals, and microsuede and faux leather upholstery with red stitching.

Topping the 2024 Mitsubishi ASX family Down Under is the Exceed, with its bi-tone 18-inch wheels, black leather upholstery, heated front seats, panoramic roof, premium audio, sat-nav, and Dark Argent Metallic grille.

This grade starts at AU$35,240 (equaling US$22,524). For the GSR, you are looking at AU$32,740 (US$20,925). The LS and MR start at AU$30,490 (US$19,488) and AU$29,740 (US$19,009), respectively, and the ES at AU$27,990 (US$17,890) or AU$30,490 (US$19,488) when ordered with the Street Accessory Pack mentioned above. The GS Manual and GS Auto have respective starting prices of AU$24,490 (US$15,653) and AU$26,740 (US$17,092).

All versions of the 2024 Mitsubishi ASX, bar the GSR and Exceed, are powered by a 110 kW (150 ps/147 hp) and 197 Nm (145 lb-ft) of torque 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. The most affordable variant comes with a five-speed manual transmission, whereas the rest of the range gets a CVT. The GSR and Exceed use a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit, making 123 kW (167 ps/165 hp) and 222 Nm (164 lb-ft). Production is already underway for the Australian market.

In the United States, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has an MSRP of $23,695 (AU$27,064) for the 2.0 S. The 2.0 ES, 2.0 LE, and 2.0 SE have respective MSRPs of $25,695, $26,395, and $27,695. Topping the Outlander Sport lineup is the 2.4 SEL, with its $28,495 starting price.
