Les Deux, a Danish menswear brand, invested $70,000 to refurbish two basketball courts in Washington Market Park in New York’s TriBeCa neighborhood.
The project was funded by the brand’s Legacy platform that works to give back to communities where it has a connection. Les Deux sells at Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom and is opening a sales office in New York to expand its reach here.
The courts, one full and one half size, were give new surfaces, walls, baskets and artwork and are intended to offer local high school and college students a revitalized space. The courts were designed by the Danish creative agency, Kongstad Studio and the nonprofit organization Project Backboard.
To celebrate the opening, Les Deux partnered with Tremaine Dalton’s nonprofit The Process Basketball, which trains up-and-coming players.

Les Deux also donated $2,000 to local nonprofit Asphalt Green, which provide sports and fitness instruction and community outreach programs to children and adults in New York.

“We’re the new kid on the block, and when you move into a new area you do something to introduce yourself. We want to show a small token of our appreciation to the community with something that everyone can enjoy and bring people together through a shared passion, regardless of nationality or culture.”
