Tennessee basketball is completing its home-and-home with Wisconsin in November.

The Vols will play the Badgers in Madison, Wisconsin, on Nov. 10. It marks Tennessee’s second nonconference game with a Big Ten opponent. It is hosting Illinois at Thompson-Boling Arena on Dec. 9 in the first game of a two-game set against the Fighting Illini.

Tennessee was slated to make the return trip to Madison on Nov. 11, 2020. The game was not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Vols lost 64-48 to Wisconsin in the first meeting on Dec. 28, 2019, at Thompson-Boling Arena. The home-and-home series was announced in January 2019.

The Badgers finished 20-15 (9-11 Big Ten) last season and advanced to the NIT semifinals in coach Greg Gard’s eighth season.

UT trails the all-time series with Wisconsin 3-2. Tennessee won in 1981 and 2000 before the Badgers evened the score with victories in 2001 and 2016 before the 2019 win.

Tennessee is slated to play a closed scrimmage at Michigan State prior to the season. The Vols and Spartans played a closed scrimmage in Knoxville prior to the 2022-23 season. The return trip to East Lansing, Michigan, was part of the agreement.

The Vols also play in the Maui Invitational from Nov. 20-22.

“Our schedule we play, we’ll start the season with a scrimmage against Michigan State up there,” Vols coach Rick Barnes said at the Big Orange Caravan in Nashville on Wednesday. “Then we’ll talk about what we want to do after that with an exhibition game or another one of the games where we can maybe do a charity game. Then Maui and all that. It’s going to help these young guys early.”

Tennessee has rounded out its roster lately with the additions of a pair of transfers and Santiago Vescovi’s decision to return for a fifth season. USC Upstate transfer guard Jordan Gainey committed to the Vols on Tuesday. Harvard transfer forward Chris Ledlum committed on Thursday.

Tennessee hosted Northern Colorado transfer Dalton Knecht on an official viist in mid-April.
