NBA 2K24 misses the mark with their ratings for the Utah Jazz

NBA 2K24 Misses The Mark With Their Ratings For The Utah Jazz

NBA 2K24 doesn’t do the Utah Jazz any justice.

The annual basketball game from the publisher 2K Sports is out for another edition, this time with NBA 2K24. The game is now out, having been put on sale officially on Sept. 8, and features Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant on the cover.  The 2K brand of basketball video games is often viewed as the best in all of gaming, though it still carries many issues, something Utah Jazz fans know all too well.

Chief among them is the rating of fans’ favorite players. The game updates the roster’s talent level as the season goes on, but the starting point for the ratings is always hotly debated. And this year’s release is no different.

The game listed the Jazz’s best players with some not-so-great scores, giving the face of the franchise (for now) Lauri Markkanen an 86, and one of the better defensive players in the league, Walker Kessler, an 83. Now, those may seem fine, but Jordan Clarkson rocked in at just an 80.

And somehow, despite having no shot whatsoever, Talen Horton-Tucker still pulled in a 78.

  • Lauri Markkanen: 86 OVR
  • Walker Kessler: 83 OVR
  • Jordan Clarkson: 80 OVR
  • Collin Sexton: 80 OVR
  • John Collins: 80 OVR
  • Talen Horton-Tucker: 78 OVR
  • Kelly Olynyk: 78 OVR
  • Ochai Agbaji: 76 OVR
  • Kris Dunn: 74 OVR
  • Omer Yurtseven: 74 OVR
  • Taylor Hendricks: 73 OVR
  • Keyonte George: 72 OVR
  • Simone Fontecchio: 72 OVR
  • Brice Sensabaugh: 71 OVR
  • Luka Samanic: 70 OVR
  • Johnny Juzang: 68 OVR
  • Micah Potter: 67 OVR

The highest-rated rookie for the Jazz is Taylor Hendricks, who likely should’ve had a lower rating than Keyonte George, as we know George has some talent to play at the NBA level, but we don’t know about Hendricks as of yet.

The highest rated of the two-way contracts is Johnny Juzang, who comes in at a 68. Joey Hauser doesn’t make the roster this season.
