Elden Ring Infographic Shows Death Toll

To celebrate Elden Ring‘s first anniversary, and the millions of fans all over the world who have explored the ‘Lands Between,’ Bandai Namco released some interesting and entertaining game stats in a rather morbid Elden Ring infographic, which details the number of times players have died at the hands of the game’s iconic and challenging bosses. In case you’re wondering, players have been killed over nine billion times to date.

While there are a thousand ways to die in-game, the publisher’s pie chart narrows it down to four. The leading cause of in-game deaths is damage from enemies and NPCs, including boss fights, accounting for 69% (cheeky!) of all deaths. The infographic says that players attempted to fight Malenia 329 million times. That number does not reveal how many players were killed by her, nor does it reveal how many players actually defeated her.

In addition, players have tried fighting Margit the Fell Omen 281 million times, Limgrave Tree Sentinel 277 million times, Radagon of the Golden Order 148 million times, and Starscourge Radahn 139 million times.

Status effects, which include poison, scarlet rot, blood loss, frostbite, sleep, madness, and death blight, are the second-leading cause of death at 15%. The third leading cause of death at 14%, is people falling to their deaths. The final cause of death is other players killing other players, which occurs only about 2% of the time.

The Elden Ring infographic comes nearly three weeks after developer FromSoftware announced Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden Ring’s first major expansion. They didn’t say when the expansion would be released, so fans will have to wait for more information.
