Path of Exile 2 won’t replace Path of Exile, and it won’t release this year

Grinding Gear Games announced at ExileCon that Path of Exile 2 won’t replace Path of Exile 1 as initially planned. The game will have its own client and mechanics, separate from PoE 1.

Path of Exile 2

The game will introduce 6 new classes, 36 ascendancy classes, 600 monsters, 100 bosses, 240 active skills, and 1,500 passive skills. PoE 1 & 2 will have some connections, and in-game purchases will be available in both, as long as compatibility isn’t an issue. Items bought in one game can be used in the other, provided the content aligns. PoE 2 will launch simultaneously on PC, macOS and consoles, but not this year. Closed beta is expected to launch in June 2024.
