The Wizarding World’s live action verse is currently in a bit of a pickle after widespread hatred for J.K. Rowling as well as the poor performance of Fantastic Beasts series. The fate of the Fantastic Beasts saga and the remaining 2 films, i.e., Fantastic Beasts 4 and Fantastic Beasts 5, currently hangs in balance as they will probably not get made now. But that doesn’t mean it is the end of our beloved wizarding world. Harry Potter is one of the most profitable franchise for WB and even though Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore wasn’t that successful, Hogwarts Legacy has brought back the hype around the Potterverse and people are now looking forward to what’s next. For those fans, we have amazing news today!
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Gameplay Has Been Leaked
The one thing that the otherwise brilliant game, Hogwarts Legacy, lacked was Quidditch. Although brooms and flying are some of the major elements of the game, it did not feature Quidditch matches or mini-games and everyone was wondering why. The answer is that all this while WB was planning a multiplayer game dedicated to Quidditch called, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. As it happens, nearly 10 minutes of gameplay from this upcoming game has been leaked online and we have exactly that for you today!
This was just a brief sequence from the leak and since, the file is exceptionally large, you can check it out by clicking on this link. The leak features an early playtest footage of the game where the user has chosen to be a Chaser. It reveals that our characters would be highly customizable and we will be able to choose between being a Chaser, Beater, Seeker or a Keeper. We can create a separate character for each of these roles and customize them at any point. Next we need to join a room or create one and invite friends over, and then simply hit play button to commence the game of Quidditch.
Of course, since it is an early testing, a lot will be improved but the game already looks like a lot of fun with various power mechanics and what not. The game also offers an immersive Quidditch experience that includes a variety of broomstick adventures and competitive multiplayer modes which allow players to participate in the sport with their friends as well as AI and random gamers. One other thing to be noticed is that before the match commences, players are granted some extra time to warm and maybe discuss their moves and strategies online.
Development of the game commenced several years prior to its announcement in April 2023, where Warner Bros. Games released a first look alongside the limited playtest. The game is slated for a release on Windows and unspecified consoles and its release date has yet to be announced, though it is expected to be sometime in 2024.
