Three additional cast members for Satoko Narita’s animated adaptation of her children’s book series The Klutzy Witch (Rakudai Majo) were unveiled on Thursday via the website for Rakudai Majo: Fka to Yami no Majo (The Klutzy Witch: Fka and the Dark Witch). The new cast members consist of (Note: Romanizations of character names are not official):
- Rie Tanaka as Reia, Fka’s mother and the ruler of the Silver Castle Yko Hikasa as Megaira,
- the Witch of Darkness bound within the Black
- Quartz Bracelet Jun Fukuyama as Abel, a significant figure in the movie’s plot
The principal actors are:
- Faka Honoka Inoue (center in image above)
- Fka’s childhood buddy Mutsumi Tamura portrays Chitose on the left, while another of his pals, Manaka Iwami, portrays Karin on the right.
- In the role of Keith, an enigmatic youngster dubbed the Prince of the Black Castle, Kensho Ono
- Ayane Sakura plays Lilica, a crucial character with purple hair throughout the narrative.
The movie debuts on March 31.
A magical realm filled with witches and wizards is the setting for the book series. As she cracks the seal of an evil witch who previously came dangerously close to destroying the world, the narrative follows the clumsy apprentice witch Fka.
The movie is being made by Production I.G. under the direction of Takayuki Hamana (The Beast Player Erin, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection, The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light). The screenplay is being written by Kiyoko Yoshimura (Riddle Story of Devil, Cardfight!! Vanguard G, takt op. Destiny). The characters are being created by Marumi Sugita, chief animation director of the Selection Project.
Rakudai Majo wa Princess (The Klutzy Witch Is a Princess), the first volume, debuted in October 2006. 17 books and one collection of short tales are part of the series. Rakudai Majo to Yami no Kyden (The Klutzy Witch and the Dark Palace), the most current book, was released in October 2013.
