Her directorial debut, Emergency, also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, and Shreyas Talpade. The film is based on the events of the Indian Emergency of 1975. Kangana Ranaut's Twitter account was suspended, according to IndianExpress, because she was making controversial statements at the time.
