As Nigerians groan with the scarcity of Naira Notes amid the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) deadline for the return of old naira notes, comic star Bowoto Jephthah Oluwatiseyifumi Tanimola aka Akpororo has called for the investigation of money changers.

He queried how these people were able to secure the redesigned naira notes which they now changed with the old notes at exorbitant rates.

He buttressed the claim by BBNaija Season 6 winner, Whitemoney who stated in a video that he recently witnessed N700,000 of the redesigned notes being sold for N1m at a party

Wondering how money changers already have the redesigned notes in surplus quantity which the masses queue up at various ATMs and banking halls to get, the 33-year-old media personality demanded the relevant authorities probed the matter.

Speaking painstakingly, Akpororo said: “There is no cash. We are waiting for new Naira notes. New Naira notes have not circulated, I believe that’s the reason why CBN shifted the deadline for the return of the old ones before they bring out the new ones. But money changers already have it and are changing money back to back.
