153 families met fate


Vidhi Jadhav is a 20-year-old college student from Nadiad, Gujarat. She has so far visited the families of 153 soldiers who died in the line of duty. Apart from that, it also provided financial assistance to the financially weak among the families of the martyred soldiers. Recently in Sikkim, a vehicle in which soldiers were traveling lost control and fell into a valley. 16 jawans lost their lives in this accident. Four were injured. One of the three vehicles in the army convoy that was leaving for the border posts in Thangu area from Chhattan met with an accident. Vidhi Jadhav has sent an amount of Rs.5,000 to the families of the five immortal jawans. Also wrote letters consoling everyone. Apart from that, it is expected to bring those families together during the summer holidays.


The journey continues


Vidhi said it would continue to help the families of economically weaker soldiers who died in the line of duty. It is said that some of the families of the martyred soldiers are poor. She said that she was just doing her part to help those families. Vidhi's father, Rajendra Jadhav, works as a Mamlatdar in Nadiad. Vidhi started visiting the families of martyred soldiers from the time she was in class 6, he said. Rajendra Jadhav said Vidhi attended the funeral of a martyred soldier in Thasra in Kheda district in 2014 and visited their home and since then she has visited many states of the country to comfort the families of the martyrs. He said that he has given financial assistance as much as he can.


Advancing Donors


Vidhi is studying Political Science and International Relations in a college in Anand. She has so far visited Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan and met the families of martyred soldiers. From the beginning, Rajendra Jadhav used to give money for her travel expenses to various states and to financially help the families of poor jawans. However, some donors have been coming forward for a while now to promote voluntary services. Cash is being given to the families of the soldiers.
