According to Variety, Wednesday was seen for about 6 billion minutes in its first five days, making it the second-highest week of streaming ever recorded by Nielsen, behind only Stranger Things 4.

Netflix confirmed the show’s renewal on January 6, 2023: Wednesday season 2 is coming! Netflix teased viewers with footage of the titular woman sitting at her typewriter the day before the announcement. “Is this it?” She is typing.

The renewal was officially revealed with a Netflix video that included a mashup of Season 1 footage, recordings of fans from all across the globe, and a fresh voiceover from Wednesday herself.

The Wednesday visual effects crew informed J-14 about which characters they would want to see more of in the second season. On top of that list? Thing. “I believe it would be amazing to investigate what may have occurred that caused him to be separated,” said Lon Molnar, co-president of the MARZ VFX team. They also said that they would be interested in doing “anything with that character front and center.”

“Because I’m really dry, and I don’t believe people can tell whether I’m serious or sarcastic. And I didn’t think it was that horrible until we were on set and Tim would remark, ‘Ugh… that was dark.'” Jenna stated with a grin on the video.

Jenna was committed to playing Wednesday, previously telling Netflix that she took fencing and cello lessons twice a week and modified her walking manner to prepare for the part. Jenna disclosed even more physical and behavioral changes to Teen Vogue.

“I believe my posture has improved considerably since working on that job. Because I always made care to keep my back straight. “If I didn’t have to, I didn’t move my hands or arms much,” Jenna said. “At some point during the first several weeks of filming, I performed a take where I did not blink at all. I don’t want you to blink anymore, Tim [Burton] remarked. We attempt to integrate strange behaviors like that.”

When working with series creator Tim Burton to develop a new Wednesday Addams. Jenna was willing to try anything. (“We’ve never seen Wednesday as a young woman.”) She said that Tim was “unusual and precise” about Wednesday’s appearance, aiming for hair distinctiveness from earlier iterations of Wednesday.

“We experimented with silver streaks, small, tiny braids, and incredibly long, thick braids in my hair. “We simply tried various things and at some point the hairdresser… he took out a piece of fringe,” Jenna said. The fringed bangs were a good start for Wednesday’s look, but they weren’t quite right — until Jenna offered a suggestion. “‘Hey, maybe I should simply cut my real hair.'”

There was some makeup on her face.
