James Gunn Shares Insights on Batman's Place in the New DC Universe

Since the cancellation of Batgirl, Warner Bros. Discovery has taken a lot of heat for its actions regarding DC Comics film projects. They just announced that James Gunn and Peter Safran would take over as co-CEOs of their new DC Studios division, and they're making some significant changes. Just last month, it was speculated that Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman after appearing in Black Adam, but it has now been confirmed that he will not. Gunn claimed that he is working on a new Superman film about a younger Superman who has just arrived in Metropolis and that Cavill will not appear in it.

Gunn also denied a recent story that he and Safran were planning to include Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson's Batman into their DC Universe.

An excited fan went to the comments of the DC Studios co-CEO to question him about the future of Batman.

"Is batman going to be a big part of the DCU going forward or is he gonna be kept for Matt reeves only?" To which Gunn responded: "He's a big part of the DCU".
