Apple quietly launches new website to showcase its own apps

Quickly and quietly, Apple launched a new website for its app, named Apps by Apple, weeks before its iPhone 15 event. The new website is designed to promote the company’s in-house apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple TV.

The website also divides the apps into multiple categories. Apple even has highlighted its key apps like iMessage, Photos, Reminders, and more. Even new iOS 17 features are also highlighted, marking its impending launch.

Multiple app categories on the Apple website

Now, Apple’s new website divides all its in-house applications into six main categories.

Communication: “Apps to keep you connected.” Apps Include Phone, Messages, FaceTime, Mail, and Contacts.

Creativity: “Tools for pros and passionate creatives.” Apps include Photos, Camera, GarageBand, iMovie, and Final Cut Pro for iPad.

Productivity: “All you need to make your work of art.” Apps in this category include Notes, Reminders, Calendar, Freeform, and Pages.

Exploration: “Discover the world and navigate it with ease.” Apps include Safari, Maps, Weather, Find My, and Wallet.

Entertainment and Home: “Brilliant ways to watch, read, listen, and relax.” Apps in this category are Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple Music Classical, and Podcasts.

Health and Fitness: “Wellness for your mind and body.” Apps include Apple Health, Fitness, Workout, Sleep, and Cycle Tracking.

Additionally, there’s also a “Features’ section for the built-in, seamless features such as Siri, iCloud, CarPlay, and Continuity.

With this new website, Apple could open iPhones to third-party app stores and sideloading in Europe.

This could also be Apple’s way of showcasing what they have to offer in comparison, as the company has been against it from the beginning, citing security reasons.
