The biggest sporting event in America is on its way in just a couple of weeks. Super Bowl LVII is scheduled for February 12 and will determine the champion of the 2022-2023 National Football League.

With the nature of subscription streaming services changing so drastically over the last few years, it’s not as easy to find the NFL’s biggest game as it used to be.

Many of us are cutting the cord and opting for streaming services over traditional cable and satellite TV. But don’t worry. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about the big game.

When and where is Super Bowl LVII?

This year, the Super Bowl is taking place in Arizona. Specifically, the game will be held in State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This is the third time the stadium will host a Super Bowl and the first since 2015.

The game is set to start at 6:30 ET (3:30 PT on the west coast). But with all the celebration and excitement surrounding the Super Bowl, the actual kickoff will likely happen 20 or 30 minutes later.

Of course, there will be a full day of pregame shows and celebrations, so you can start checking out coverage early in the morning.

Super Bowl LVII is being broadcast on FOX. But again, many of us have cut our cable plans and moved towards various streaming services.

One option for watching the big game this year is the NFL+ mobile app. The NFL+ mobile app is available on both Android and iOS mobile devices.

But it’s not entirely free. The NFL+ mobile app operates on a subscription basis. To access the app, you’ll have to fork over $4.99 per month.

Another, maybe more appealing, option for watching the Super Bowl this year is at FOXSports.com. Since FOX holds exclusive rights to the Super Bowl broadcast this year, you can catch the big game on their website.

And it’s totally free. Just head to FOXSports.com in time for the big game, and you’ll see the option to stream it on your computer.

Finally, there’s another option for those looking to watch the game on a mobile device. The FOX Sports app for iOS and Android will be another home to Super Bowl LVII.

Like FOXSports.com, the FOX Sports mobile app falls under the FOX brand umbrella. So this year’s big game will be available there, as well.

Any streaming service that includes FOX

There are a lot of streaming services out there that include FOX as part of their channel list, as well. YouTube TV, FuboTV, Hulu Plus Live TV, and Sling TV offer FOX, at least in some packages or markets.

If you’re looking to go this route, make sure that whichever service you sign up for offers FOX in your market. The last thing you want to do is sign up for a service that doesn’t carry FOX.

How to watch the Super Bowl for free

Here’s something no one ever talks about: free trials. Many streaming services provide free trials for new users, so if you time it right, you can watch Super Bowl LVI for free on a premium streaming service.

In some cases, the free trial is only for a few days. Other times, it may last for a week or more.

There are sometimes deals that extend the free trial to a whole month. That should cover a single football game on a single day, so you’re golden if you go this route.

You have plenty of options to choose from when it comes to these free trials.

And regardless of which one you pick, most of the bigger names like YouTube TV, Peacock, and Hulu will all be streaming the Super Bowl. So you have plenty of options to choose from.

Another simple solution to watching the Super Bowl for free: HDTV antennas

Don’t want to mess around with one of those streaming apps? There is one more option if you want to watch the big game without cable.

Since FOX is a local channel, the game is broadcasted over the air. Local TV stations in your area broadcast high-definition television over the air, also known as “OTA TV.”

You only need an HD TV and an antenna to watch OTA channels. OTA DVRs can even be used to record live TV. These antennas can easily be mounted indoors and cost between $20 and $50.

You can snag an HDTV antenna, like one from Amazon, and hook it up to your TV. You should have no problem watching the big game this way. Plus, you get the bonus of watching your local TV stations for free.

Leech off of one of your friends

If all else fails, mooch off a friend. Surely you know someone who plans on hosting the big game at their home.

If that’s the case, give them a ring and ask if it’s OK if you can come by and watch the game with them. If you get an invite, just be sure to bring something. No one likes a freeloader.

And if none of your friends are hosting, your local sports bar or restaurant will be sure to host the game too, so there are always other options if friends aren’t your first choice.

Who’s playing in Super Bowl LVII?

Super Bowl LVII will be played between the winners of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Cincinnati Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the San Francisco 49ers.

There are still a few weeks before the big game, but the hype is already building.

This year’s playoffs have been extremely exciting and will hopefully continue until the end of the Super Bowl. One thing is for sure, it will be a big game, and we’re here for it.
