Banana Pudding Shots – The Soccer Mom Blog

This ain’t your grandma’s banana pudding! These banana pudding shots are a boozy version of the classic dessert: sweet, creamy, with a kick!

Banana Pudding Shots

Banana Pudding is one of my all time desserts! These Banana Pudding shots take all of the things you love about banana pudding…and take it up a notch by adding vodka! (Oh yes, this is not your grandma’s banana pudding recipe!)

As far as jello shots go, these are one of the easiest recipes you’ll find because you don’t have to cook anything on a stovetop! Just whisk together the 3 ingredients, pour into your shot glasses, and chill! That’s about as easy as mixing up a regular cocktail!

Then when they’ve chilled, we topped our Banana Pudding Shots with all of the proper fixins’ — whipped cream and Nilla Wafers. It’s the perfect combination of banana flavors, fluffy whipped topping, and crunchy cookies. And a little something extra of course!

If you love banana pudding too, then this is a must try for your next party!

Instructions

This recipe is super easy! However, you will need at least 2 hours of chill time for your shots to firm up in the fridge, so be sure to plan ahead!

  1. Add pudding mix, milk, and vodka to a large bowl and whisk to combine.
  2. Spoon pudding into your plastic cups, leaving 1/4″ space at the top, and place the cups on a baking tray.
  3. Chill in the fridge until pudding is completely set.
  4. When ready to serve, top with whipped cream and one mini vanilla wafer cookie.

TIP: If you want to add even more fun touches to this recipe, try topping with one banana slice and cookie crumbles too!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Make Pudding Shots Ahead of Time?

Yes! This is the perfect recipe for planning ahead because jello shots stay good in the refrigerator for a few days.

If making a day or two before you plan to serve them, wait to add the toppings.

Instead, make your pudding shots and put a lid on each cup. Place on a baking sheet in the fridge to chill until it’s party time.

How Many Servings Does this Recipe Make?

It depends on your shot glasses and how much you fill them with, but generally this recipe yields about 12 individual servings. This recipe is intended for readers 21+; please enjoy responsibly.

Can You Use a Different Type of Liquor?

If vodka is not your thing, rum could also work well for this recipe. I would recommend using a coconut rum, such as Malibu for a flavorful treat. Simply swap 1 cup rum for the 1 cup of vodka in the recipe.

What if I Don’t Have Banana Pudding?

If you don’t have banana pudding, you could use vanilla pudding or even white chocolate pudding and add a teaspoon of banana extract to get that banana flavor. Or you could use 3/4 cup vodka and 1/4 cup Creme de Banana liquor.
